If the clock strikes midnight, will BYU be allowed to continue playing?

Also, what's a 'typical' BYU tailgate like? I can't wait to see some of the interactions b/t people from Utah and coon-asses.

Good luck!

I'd give her an OT 10, or an X which is a Romijn numeral.

GFY

This dude came in here with a great post and a cool vibe. Zero need to shite on him or his belief system.

Having worked with several Mormons throughout my career, I'm convinced you won't find a more genuine, kind, caring group of people on the planet.

I'm excited about this matchup and look forward to a great game and a Tigers win.

LSU is going to kick BYU's arse and it won't be pretty.

All this nice crap is just that, crap. LSU has a talent advantage that is off the chart.

LSU wins big.

I'm not sure this will be the case this year.

Thanks for coming to this board and putting up with us. I'll be traveling to Houston for the game also and I hope all the BYU fans enjoy the trip. I don't know the Cougars well at all, so I won't make up any football questions. But I do have a few Q,s about BYU.

1. Does a student have to be a Mormon to attend BYU? Are all the players Mormons?

2. Is it true that Mormons are not allowed to drink alcohol? Please don't be offended if a Tiger fan offers you a beer or cocktail, before, during, or after the game. Its what we do.

3. What do you think will be the end of year ranking for the Cougars?

Travel safely!

Jesus dude...... this game is no blowout..... LSU has a lot more speed and athletes... but BYU will already have a game under its belt and that is a huge advantage. They will not destroy BYU like you think they will....

Watched BYU play twice on the tube last season vs Miss State and Boise State

Vs State they should have lost if State had any kind of defense last year.State's Oline pushed BYU around a good bit and moved the ball at will but would make a key mistake.I believe State had something like 400 total yards and the Dawgs were very average last year.

Vs Boise it was the typical west coast no defense showed up type of game.Boise rolled up near 600 yards on BYU.This is the same Boise State team that got crushed by an average Baylor team in a bowl.

BYU's best player on offense was the running back and he is gone and nothing about their defense was worth remembering. They'll play hard for a half then end up getting blown out.

Yes. Your coach was talking out of his butt on that subject when asked about it during SEC media days. We won't start a game on Sunday, but we'll definitely finish one.

Not much of one, sadly. Tailgating has never really been a thing out west generally. But when you add the LDS aspect where most of Sunday is spoken for because of church responsibilities (as a bishop, I would be at the church building from 6:30 AM to about 3 PM every Sunday), your Saturday really needs to be used for getting the "chore list" completed. Always work in the yard, around the house, and on vehicles that needs to be done. Not enough time in 24 hours to really do tailgating right.

Best interaction I've had was in The Grove at Ol' Miss. Lots of signs saying "Free Beer for BYU Fans". Thankfully, I had brought plenty of my own A&W.

No, it is not required to be Mormon to attend BYU. There is a difference in tuition cost, however. Members of the church only pay $5,460 a year while those of other faiths/no faith pay $10,920 a year.

So this means that there are non-Mormon players every year. Jamaal Williams, our stud RB last year now with the Packers, is a great example.

All students, regardless of religion, are required to interview, discuss, ask questions regarding, and sign the school's Honor Code.

Yes, that is one of the tenants of the religion, and a part of the school's Honor Code. As for offense at an offer of beer or cocktail, BYU fans who have never left the state of Utah are the only ones you'd see get offended.

My mission in Russia and current work that takes me around the world every year means that I have an understanding of what is being offered whether it's alcohol, coffee, or whatever...it's a sign of friendship/goodwill.

Most BYU fans, particularly those that would travel to road games like the one in Houston, have the same understanding and appreciation. They'll respectfully decline the booze and hope you have a Sprite somewhere in the cooler.

BYU fans have broken our schedule into two parts: 1. Furious Five and 2. The Crap Left Over. Furious Five are LSU, Utah, Wisconsin, Boise State, and Mississippi State. I think we beat Utah and Boise at home. MSU in Starkville is the tossup. And LSU and Wisconsin are the most likely losses. Beating MSU on the road, if all else goes as expected, will determine whether we end ranked around #20 or not at all. Most of us are thinking 10-3 or 11-2 with that MSU contest being the swing game.

But if we pull the upset in Houston, delusions of grandeur will set in.
