It's not about just catching the ball, but getting open too.

You know why Deshaun Watson was the most sacked QB in the league this season? Everyone blames his offensive line or the fact that Coutee and Fuller got hurt. It has something to do with it, but that is not it.
He HELD THE BALL FOR 4+ seconds 80% of the time.

He doesn’t know how to throw his receivers open.

Yeah we can blame receivers and Oline, but the QB has to anticipate and throw them open. Watch Brady and Brees and even Trevor Lawrence for that matter.

I think Marshall is going to breakout next year. He ran some solid routes and made some great catches. I think the only reason that Burrow and Jefferson have the relationship that they do is not because Jefferson is better, but because they have a better rapport currently as Jefferson was mostly the first read.

I think another year under the belt working together may be what Marshall is missing.

Will be interesting to see what the kid can do

Well I never thought drops were the problem like most. He did throw away many uncatchable balls when protection broke down or receivers didn't get separation.

We didn't have tons of drops, but we had a lot of plays with no open WRs. Jefferson is the only one who seemed to get separation at times.

I haveno idea why you think

1. Jefferson will be moved to the slot when he's played outside all year

I think he might actually be more productive in the slot. I don’t think that’s a knock on him

I would imagine that the number would go up when your number of throws go up also.

I wonder what the percentage is when comparing the total number of throws for each team. I think we'll use the QBs, WRs and RBs in a much different way next year also. We should see much more risk within the offense and more QB runs as well.

What I really want to see is us call a game on what's working and go back to things that were open but weren't expected correctly. I think we give up on certain things much too fast sometimes and don't take enough risk in the RZ. More motion on run and pass plays ad more quick throws to backs and WRs to start a game off mixed with the run. Running at a team while they are strong and keyed in isn't very smart and usually causes punts early in games.

More mixing up plays and playing backwards to start games then going to brute strength once we've softened them up. More plays over the middle to TEs and WRs while in the RZ. Burrow has proven that you can count on him.

When I look at receiving rankings in the SEC, we've only got one guy in the top 50,

Might have something to do with 1 Wr being primary most of the time, the oc not making them learn each other's routes, or the team not using a touch board to rotate who is for primary... OR Joe playing favorites ...and not going through gus reads right (which would explain the 5 second sacks)

Jemarr Chase is the a superstar in the making. He reminds of a young Golden Tate.

I think the reason people might have thought the drops were so bad is because they seemed to ask come at once, or all in one game.

Seems like there would be a stretch of games where the receivers would catch everything, then out of nowhere they would have a game where they couldn't catch anything.

the drops were critical....one bullet can kill if right place/right time
One dropped pass can kill a season.

It lost us at least the FL game.

Most wide receivers this year had butter fingers! Some times they would make catches & some times they were wide open& dropped the pass Right in their hands!

Anyone saying anything about the talent level being down on this team is just full of shite and want to put blame anywhere they can except for the one guy that deserves it. The Head Coach

How many top three round draft choices off of our offense this year? Zero. In fact, the only guys on our offense who might get drafted are Moreau, Brumfield and Brossette. And none of them are shoe-ins. This is an extremely untalented offense. The exceptions are Burrow and young players that this staff has started to restock with. Next year we’ll have some talented third year players on offense.

Compare this to our defense - not just this year - any year. Can you imagine a year in which there are only three guys with a chance at being drafted? On our defense? And there’s a small possibility that none will be drafted. In my opinion Foster goes in the sixth, Brossette in the seventh and Brumfield does not get drafted.
