Moron... Haskins and Barrett didn't win a Heisman either (if that is ACTUALLY the basis of your "logic").

So yeah, any Heisman bet is a shits and giggles bet - some just have better odds.

BTW, moron, you're full of it - Barrett was never a Heisman finalist.

You've adamantly argued that Burrow is better than Dwayne Haskins and JT Barrett since you first came on this board. With the new RPO offense he’s been running since elementary school, I’d think you’d wager a tidy sum considering both Haskins and Barrett each set Big 10 records and were both Heisman finalists. Shouldn’t be shite and giggles bet for you. That is if you truly believe all that nonsense you’ve been spouting since you first showed up here.

Why are so many "LSU fans" on this board absolute dick heads when it comes to Buckeye Jeaux and his fandom of OUR starting QB!

I realize he has a somewhat unrealistic view of Burrow's abilities, but why go out of your way to bash him, as well as Burrow in the process. Maybe Burrow isn't the next Tom Brady but he's the best QB I've seen at LSU since Tommy Hodson.

Support our QB and the positive spin rather than ridicule everything Buckeye posts.

First time I saw this dude in HS I wanted LSU to sign him. IDK how good he will be at MS St.,

May not even be the starter.

Shay Patterson seems like he has been around for a decade

Annoys me when people say this about a 5th year player. To say it about a 4th year player is just weak.

Shay was suppose to redshirt behind Chad Kelly then had to burn it in November when Kelly went down during a game.

Then Shay gets hurt his sophomore year so he played two half seasons. Hardly someone who’s been wearing out your tv news.

Did he sit out a year after transferring? Nope. He’s played 3 season.

I wish these kids could stay around for 6 years. I hate when we lose a guy to the draft after 3 years. Mocking a 4th year senior for “being around forever” is just weird.

3 in a row from same school same position? I’ll believe that when I see it.

Wouldn't be that surprising, that's just how Oklahoma, and every BIG 12 team, is built. No matter the QB, they'll always have insane stats. The Heisman is a stat trophy now sadly.

Historically speaking, it would be very surprising. No team has had 3 consecutive Heisman trophies ever. Much less at the same position. In fact, Oklahoma is only the 4th team to be in position for a possible 3 in a row at any position and the second or third (depending on whether you consider HB and FB to be a part of the RB position, I think HB is but FB is typically still listed as a separate position on the roster) at the same position. One of those back to back is the only repeat for a player.

At any position

Army
Felix "Doc" Blanchard - HB - 1945
Glenn Davis - FB - 1946

Ohio State
Archie Griffin - RB - 1974-75

USC
Matt Leinart - QB - 2004
Reggie Bush - RB - 2005

Oklahoma State
Baker Mayfield - QB - 2017
Kyler Murray - QB - 2018

Always has been about stats and media presence. Guys like Paul Hornug, Mark Ingram, Derrick Henry, Gino Torretta, Chris Wencke, Danny Wuerffel, Archie Griffin (twice) Steve Walsh were not among the top five players in college the years they won it.

Off topic but not buying Fields or Martinez at 10/1. OSU’s new coach is a complete question mark and I think they’ll see a big drop off from the Meyer era under him, and Nebraska has no talent.

You haven't being paying attention. One, that was Day's offense that tOSU ran last year not Meyer's where Haskins threw for almost 5k and 50 TDs. They bring back 3 of their top 6 WRs from last year who are all seniors, heavily experienced, and uber talented. They bring in the #2 WR (who looked like a beast in their spring game), and another top 100 recruit at WR from the 2019 class. Fields can freaking run and I'll bet he's improved a lot from that spring game. If their defense is decent, they'll go undefeated or be a one loss team. I'm not buying Michigan winning the Big 10 like so many media are expecting.

Yeah, Nebraska doesn't have the talent yet to win big, but Martinez is electric, and as long as you dominate, and against your best competition (Clemson, FSU, among others), you'll have a lot of people in your corner. Lamar Jackson just proved that. I expect them to win 8-9 games this year, which gives him a shot.

Barrett finished 5th in the Heisman voting as a redshirt freshman.

Yes I have.

Yeah? And you know that running a program is different from running an offensive right? Plenty of great coordinators have failed as a HC despite having talent.

No it doesn’t there have been 3 Heisman winners in the entire history of the trophy whose teams have won less than 9 games, and Lamar Jackson, RGIII, and Tebow are the only players since 1998 to get the Heisman on 9 win teams. And Martinez isn’t those 3 guys.

And they went 4-8 last season, what exactly makes you so confident that they’ll win 4-5 more games? 7-5 is much more likely than 9-3 IMO, which would completely disqualify Martinez even if he has a great season. 10-1 odds for him are absolutely ridiculous

Interesting, I was at Caesars at the beginning of June, and he didn’t make the list. I found it online a couple of weeks later at 100-1, and said WTF, 200 to win 20k

And was NOT a finalist.

There were 3 finalists that year - Mariota, Cooper, and Gordon. The winner, Mariota had 2587 points. Barrett had 78 points.
