Burrow 1st Half and Brennan the 2nd.

There no reason to risk injury to Burrow by playing him much in the second half, especially if we are ahead by a lot. Brennan needs some more real game experience as well. Should Coach O leave Burrow in with a huge lead and he suffers a serious injury, then everyone will be again calling for his firing. We need Burrow healthy with our toughest games ahead.

Burrow did not come here to sit. He needs all the reps with his new team he can get. Trust the offensive line will protect and he needs to be smart and not take hits.

If we are up big, why not let one of the walkons play the second half? I would prefer to save Brennan unless we really need him.

Oh yeah? Get him hurt and It's Brennan and Sale to get us past La Tech, Florida, Ole Miss, Georgia, Miss State, Alabama, Arkansas, and Texas A & M. Get a brighter bulb man.

Injuries happen all the time. He needs the reps and should play as much as he can before Auburn.

Using the same logic, wouldn't you want to get Brennan some live reps in case of an injury to Burrow? Brennan can play in four games and still redshirt. I'd like to see him get a quarter each against SELA and LaTech.

Our plan should be to not play Brennan at all until Rice, in my opinion.
Rice is a fluff team that we should be able to sub in Brennan for at that point in the season.
Brennan only gets 4 games. If we are SEC championship level good this year, we want to be able to play a serviceable backup QB if anything were to happen to Burrow at the end of the year AND still not burn Brennan's redshirt. He could play Rice, A&M, SEC Championship, and bowl game and still not lose the redshirt.

Has Burrow even been on campus 3 months yet? He needs all the reps he can get. Not to mention that he and Brennan essentially split 1st team reps during fall camp (428 to 427 if I remember right). So Brennan has had way more tome with the 1s than a usual back up already.

Its not like the Miami game was a flawless victory. Reps are needed. Game reps. Play Burrow, get proficient. Getting Brennan 2nd half scrub reps isn't helping this team learn how to execute.
