Wonder what Huey Long would think about these new parking fees

c
can someone post a link to the info and/or the new policy?
or, simply answer my question...
we drive up from central la. we usually try to leave around 5 am gameday morning, arrive at campus around 7 am and try to find a spot in the grass lot around the natatorium/or just north of the track stadium parking lot off of nicholson. how, if at all, will this change effect what we try to do? (i don't mind paying, but will there be a way to pay in "advance", etc?)
thanks for any link/info...

I don't remember all the new paid parking zones, but no, there is no advanced payment system right now. So yes, it will be a gigantic clusterfrick

This is my only issue. A lot of people come in from out of town. The easy-street gates will be a complete clusterfrick trying to get on campus in the morning. Not to mention having to deal with whatever minimum wage employee they decide to put out there.

2011 Parking Changes
It looks like the grass lot around the natatorium is being converted to season pass parking only. As far as the other parking fees that are individual game only, I don't see any way to pay in advance. They are trying to maintain the first-come first-serve policy of those areas. You can purchase a parking permit on Friday, but you will have to leave your vehicle overnight or arrive before 5am on Saturday.
I don't think it will be too bad getting a permit the morning of the game. If you get there early enough to find a spot around Tower Drive, traffic wouldn't be too bad anyway. I don't see how handing someone $40 for a permit is going to seriously hold up traffic.

Because there will be people that drive up not knowing what the frick is going on. They'll be people trying to "just get in to drop shite off". They'll be people paying with $100 bills and need change. They'll have to raise the arm of the gate every time, etc.

LOL, watch and see what happens !

Maybe you'll eventually understand that why people are angry doesn't actually have much to do with the actual money
Let me get this straight. The fear everybody has is that LSU is the enemy and they're using money as a tool to potentially destroy the gameday atmosphere. Am I right? Afterall it's not like LSU released an official statement that a law would be passed that forbid all tailgating. The money is the issue here.
So in essence, to say actual money has nothing to do with it is false.

Do you see how slow the guys for the lot across from old Alex Box move on gameday (I think Lot F)?
And all they're doing really is checking passes and tearing off the bottom.
And then once you get in the lot, they have people randomly waving flags and acting like they have some semblance of order in telling people where to park. It's a mess.
Now imagine adding to that people taking money and giving change back. And mulitply that times the number of cars a particular lot holds.

It's just easier to say "stop being cheap" than to actually think why this might piss people off
Just keep being ignorant
Just keep being ignorant

Wait a second there. Ignorant? What am I missing?
People are scared that LSU is going to ruin the gameday experience and they're using money as a tool to do it.
You said money wasn't the issue. I know what the issue is. But money is certainly an issue of the whole thing. It may not be the issue, but it is certainly an issue.
Don't get all saucy with me!

I've never seen that. All I pictured was a guard taking money and handing out a pass. Making change for $100 shouldn't be too hard. Look at all the people parking at Saints games. That doesn't seem to hold things up too much, and most of those fans arrive around the same time. If you want a spot west of Highland you probably have to arrive before 7 or 8, and traffic at that time is nonexistent.
Yes I have concerns that they will find a way to screw it up, but I don't think it will be as bad as everyone says.

In south Louisiana with the people they have doing it, is.

There will not be 1 person who doesn't go tailgate next season because of the increased prices, including you.
Don't say that. The season tickets I now own belonged to a person who gave them up out of disgust after LSU won the title in 2003. There are plenty of current fans who will reduce their activities because of price increases and likewisek, for every 1 fan who does that there are 50 waiting in line to take his place.

At least with the SEC winning 5 straight national champoinships and all the money LSU "has been getting" you would think prices on tickets/concessions would drop. Or parking for free like we have been for the past 77 years would continue. Oh well, at least LSU fans will root for the SEC for all the benefits we get out of it.
