I think those are pretty good assessments. DBs can only maintain coverage for so long so, without a pass rush, Tua and receivers will find holes. We have yet to generate pressure with just our D line.
It’s a valid concern.

I'm thinking lsu will roll out a basketball type defense known as box n 1 with stingley, or triangle n 2 with Fulton and stingly playing man, and rest playing zone on slot and TE. Ha

Be less obvious Gump/Aggot alter. You’re too over-the-top with your trolling.

He kinda nailed it really. No secrets revealed here.

There's nothing in that article that LSU fans haven't said themselves. I dare say that most of us have been surprised at how the defense has performed this season, mainly because we all assumed that they would have to carry the team until the new offense founding its footing. We don't have a consistent pass rush, or really much of one at all. Aranda has been good at making adjustments, but we have struggled at times, particularly with letting teams out of 3rd and long situations. The comment that stood out the most to me is that, at least according to the coach(es) interviewed for that article, we pretty much run a base defense. No misdirection, no stunting, nothing to confuse the opposing offense. When our guys play their assignments well, wrap up, tackle, etc. we're ok. We are what we are on defense. We're not an aggressive, attacking defense that gets a lot of sacks, and we're not going to change that now.

“They don’t play zone well, that’s what happened in the UCF game last year, and they couldn’t cover them. “
———————

This statement is penultimate stupidity. The defensive backfield we fielded against UCF was one injury away from using the water boy .

It really is frustrating that nobody along LSU’s defensive front can win one on one blocks consistently and get to the QB.

Key was about be only one in recent years.

I would feel so much better if Chaisson was that guy.

Sucks.

I don't see anything inaccurate. LSU's pass rush is basically non existant even against lesser teams like Vandy.

I think we are getting a little better at a pass rush. Going to have to stop the slants to have a chance. They are going to throw to who ever KV is on a lot and try and get Delpit in 1 on 1 match ups. Good part is we know what they want to do--can we match up?

We are going to score, its going to take 30 plus to win this game unless we have a bunch of turnovers both ways.
If its close we have a lot more experience in that department than they have had this year. CEH is underrated and I think the difference maker this game, seems to be getting better each game.

all true.

We have to scheme around it AND players are going to have to make plays.

Step up, or get beat down.

The LSU defensive front is massive, and perhaps too big. If Tagovailoa has good mobility coming off his ankle surgery, they aren’t much of a threat to sack him. (They also wear down easily, as the spree of, ahem, cramping at Texas showed.)

This is true. I was watching Lawrence in particular last game. Dude looked like he was running in slow motion once he shed his block. He’s really slow. Lawrence has been such a disappointment. Fehoko as well. Logan and Ferrell are better.

Agree with everything said. If Vincent is the best you have, we need a new DC and recruiters. Aranda is the weak link. Alabama rushed for TWO HUNDRED EIGHTY YARDS last year against our "defensive genius." My biggest fear this year is NOT stopping their run game, that they run it down our throats.

Mine too. I think they will be able to run the ball with Harris.
