Skylar Green and Josh Reed used to dominate this play. Its great if executed and with the right personnel.

Yes, waste of a play. Even when we had Beckham and Landry we couldn't get it to work most of the time. We had back to back ones last game and they went for a loss and no gain.

And that little screen pass to Guice out of the backfield that worked so well in the film clip we saw from practice. Well apparently Miss. State had seen it to because the minute we put Guice in they seemed to know we were going to run that play.

if they ever faked to the back man, released the blocker, and threw downfield it would be great.

Not enough time for that. QB would be sacked every time.

False. Oregon used to run it all the time. It just has to be a quick pop, not a deep fade. But you also have to run the actual screen a lot for it to work, just like any other play action pass. The safety has to bite and it almost has to be zone coverage.

Fade is a bigger waste of a play.

Colleges don't need to be running fade routes. Every time they do I don't even watch. It's automatic incomplete.

Just like other posters were saying about the bubble screen...
It's all about execution.
LINK

With good execution it can be an awesome play.

How many times did we call the jet sweep the other night? I will give you the answer - 2. Once it was touchdown which was called back and the other was a 17 yard gain.

I pointed out that we called in 4 times in 2 games last year with an incredible average yards per carry.

I would never suggest we call it 10 times a game, but 2-4 seems to be working pretty well.

I bet your playbook and playcalling would be incredible.
Thought you were talking about the quick out since the post you were replying to mentioned the jet sweep as an afterthought. Have no problem running the jet sweep once or twice a game. Would probably work better if we threw more, but the sweep definitely gets around a stacked box often enough. The quick out is the play that we run to death. The better defenders are right on top of it.

I used to only see your negative shtick on Pels talk, seems your starting to spill over to the rant now.

Other teams have occasional success with it b/c they don't run it 4 times a game. It always seems to be blown up when we run it. Same with the jet sweep

All about the blocking baw!! We dont do a good job on these play calls.

Again, 1 out of 1,000 does not make it a good play.

In your response regarding fake punts you quoted only my comments about the Jet Sweep, so that is obviously why I responded in regards to the jet sweep.

Also, a quick out is completely different route/play than a bubble screen which the OP is referring to. Seems like your are showing with each post how little you know about football.
