Maybe, maybe not. Ware and Schmidt could’ve had great outings or Evans could’ve shut the bed yesterday.

Nah bro. They KNOW LSU would have won.

Because, you know, they just do.

Right. Not using hindsight to declare a complete unknown as true makes me obtuse.

Dude you misquoted both of his statements to try to make a point and you’re still wrong

He neither suggested that Evans should’ve come in the 4th nor that it would’ve guaranteed a win. But you pretended he said both

Bringing Evans in the 4th would have been pointless.

Would it have been? Eyanson wasn’t pulled in the 4th. LSU gave up 6 runs over the next 3 innings. 9 over the next 4 innings. If Evans is pitch for 3 of those innings you think that doesn’t change anything?

Huh? Having Cowan replace Eyanson yesterday with a 5-2 lead changes that entire game.

LSU had the lead going into the 7th yesterday. They could have put in Evans to finish the game. They weren’t short on pitchers due to pitching Cowan Friday. Ifs not that hard to understand

Nobody “knows” how anything would have played out. But LSU lost the last two games of the series by the scores of 11-7 and 6-2 and you have a problem with people saying that the management of the pitching staff could have been better.

Schmidt needs to go back to dominating weekday games for a little while longer.

I don’t have a problem with you guys melting. Please, continue to do so. It’s entertaining.

I do find it interesting that he’s been here for 4 years and the same posters can’t seem to figure out that Johnson tinkers and tests his guys all the way through April. Early to mid May is when you see guys lock into a role.

Maybe one day you guys will stop melting and see that.

I understand the situation. You said wasting Cowan on Friday was inconsequential. If Cowan is available to replace Eyanson, you likely have more than a one run lead going into the 7th. I never said that not bringing in Evans was a good move.

You understand very little about pretty much anything. You’ve made that very clear over the past few years.

I’m not melting. I’m just reacting to the games that are currently happening. I still think LSU has a great shot to host a Super and go to Omaha. Just because I think Cowan shouldn’t have been used Friday doesn’t mean that I think LSU is fricked for the rest of the season. You can’t seem to understand that.

I know. That doesn’t mean that these early SEC games don’t matter. Losing one of these games could be the difference between LSU hosting a Super Regional or not. That’s a pretty big deal.

It was. Had they needed him today I would concede the point, but they didn’t. They botched the late innings yesterday by not putting in Evans when they had a lead going into the 7th. All in all the whole weekend felt a bit experimental so I wouldn’t put too much stock in the decisions anyway

Right, but they needed him yesterday and he was unavailable.

Agreed.

Probably. Again, I’m not saying that LSU’s season is going down the drain. But in a league in which every win is so valuable and hard to come by, I’m simply evaluating a series that I think we could have won 2/3 and explaining what moves I think would have helped accomplish that. And it’s not in hindsight. I said in the game thread on Friday night that I was surprised that they were going to Cowan in that spot.

The Connor Ware experiment needs to end. I heard reports after fall practice that he was the best pitcher LSU had. Either someone was lying or he completely fell apart when the games counted. Either way, he can’t be relied upon.

He had a 1.5 ERA in the fall and spring. Now in season he has a 7 ERA. Absolutely baffling how that happens

Cowan was warming in the top of the inning. He was hot after we put up 4 - he had to come in. Please stop.
