You’re full of shite. Yes you beat Indiana (who lost to every ranked team they played congrats). Penn st (shocker Penn st choked and dropped two wide open TDS) UGA with their back up qb who also dropped two wide open tds. Other than that you’ve played no one in the top 20. Final rankings are all that counts. You’ve kicked your way to where you’re at and it’ll show come Monday at around midnight when you’re back to being a laughing stock.

The troll who wrote that article apparently is a radio guy in Argentina who writes an occasional column about American football.
Why do we feel we have to have a public debate here about Kelly every time one of these assclowns writes something like this?
Since it was circulated by msn.com it reached a larger audience than it deserved, so all the Notre Dame/Chicago nerds scurried here to stir the same, tired pot.
I have nothing against Notre Dame football, but I'm kinda hoping now that we see a butt-whipping on the order of Georgia-TCU.

They also won’t have near the ball club next year.
I haven't looked, but they may not have near the ball club, but you can bet they will have a similar schedule.

Thats totally false. Kelly ostracised the donors and alumni and pushed ex players out at notre dame
Wait wait wait wait wait….so you’re telling me that an Irish Catholic from north of the Mason Dixon line ostracized the donors at Notre fricking Dame of all places? But here at LSU he’s gotten drunken coonasses (how the rest of the nation views Louisiana) from south LA and hardcore southern baptists from north Louisiana to give more than ever?

With the least amount of self awareness ever, he basically said that BK was wrong for leaving because he had everything he needed to win there, then in his next breath said that Kelly leaving was the driving force behind their NIL collective and fundraising for better facilities and support for their program.

This is going to be outlined over and over all offseason until the season starts.

Lol. You same pussies that are trying to use this to celebrate some imaginary victory, are the same pussies that we’re melting down when Kelly left, and the same arrogant twats that thought Notre Dame was a championship team every year, under Kelly. You can’t rewrite history, as bad as you all want to.

The way to shut it up is for BK to get serious. Stop losing openers, stop getting run out the stadium by top teams and deliver a title.

Different viewpoints are not allowed here.
BK was right, everyone at ND was wrong.
If BK was really held in that regard to ND boosters, they would have retained BK and spent money when Woody was searching for a HC.
BK is a people's person and no way could his arrogance ostracize donors.

Per their AD, BK didn't give them the opportunity to match LSU's offer.

Notre Dame has written a lot of revisionist history about the departure of BK.
I'm not saying there weren't people there happy to see him go, but in general, they were pissed.
You have to remember, they were in the playoff hunt at that time and had just given him an extension the year prior.
That's why they're still bringing it up.

He didn't want to be at Notre Dame. Period. He still doesn't. He wanted to move on and he did. He left them in a prime position to sustain what he built there.
These ND media people and the small amount of fans that frequent this site still can't get past the fact that a very good coach who was enveloped in everything ND for over a decade could decide he doesn't like it anymore and just leave. It's jilted lover syndrome. They are like that ex that stalks you on social media for years and finally when they have something good happen they want to rub it in your face even though you haven't thought about them since you left.

Kelly famously justified his departure by claiming Notre Dame lacked the resources to win a national championship. Freeman’s success challenges that narrative, with many questioning if Kelly’s exit was premature or misguided.
What all these articles fail to (ALWAYS) point out, is BK served under AD Jack Swarbrick that publicly said often “we’re an academic school with a football program, not a football school with an academic program.” Swarbrick was notoriously cheap when it came to athletics. BK begged for a bunch of new upgrades, money for recruiting, for coaches, for facilities, for new programs. Got stone walled.
Well guess what, Swarbrick isn’t there any longer and new AD Belavaqua is much more open minded to spending money. And guess what, in the NIL era you need to spend money. And BK working under a guy with T-Rex arms, entering NIL era, probably didn’t want to deal with that. Swarbrick is gone now - coincidentally in the year Freeman went 11-1 and CFP (he didn’t before did he?)

Nailed it!!! Spurned ex-lover stuff. They’re still bitter. And BK hired Freeman, and wanted him to be the next HC at ND. When ND screwed around, said they were doing a national search, BK offered Freeman DC job at LSU. 24 hours later ND shut down their search and announced Freeman HC. I’ve never seen people who “claim” to be so happy they got rid of a coach that they constantly talk about it. Like were LSU fans constantly talking about DiNardo during the Saban years?

What did he do?
Kelly insinuating ND didn't have the resources to win it all ticked him off and he spearheaded their NIL collective to get going.
Pretty much said ND had the resources, but Kelly's departure became a call to action to get it all in motion after he left.
In short, ND's ego got hurt when he walked and it triggered them to get in line with the rest of the successful programs.
