My bad. Thought you were talking about Parker, not Sampson.

Well...there is a benefit right there..

Disagree. You're 1-0, not 0-1.

And you have a full scrimmage game against a real (albeit shitty) opponent worth of film on yourself to improve for week 2. If you aren't good in game 1s, then you benefit from having an easy game 1 to work out kinks.

You think Ole Miss isn't going to have a great film session on themselves this week? They won by that much and I watched a lot of that game and they made plenty of mistakes.

Disappointed. This press conference sounds like a bunch of excuses and being stubborn when BK needs to realize he has to change some of his strategies. If he continues with this we will continue to go 9-3.

And so would USC, the team that out coached you…..

So wouldn’t logic dictate the better coached team would benefit the most from the week 1 cupcake?

First question he was asked about him saying that Miller Moss outplayed Nuss, which he emphatically denied saying

Im sorry, what?

He knows he’s on video saying exactly that, right?

You're misreading, which is easy to do how I wrote it.

I was calling a cupcake game a scrimmage but differentiating it from a scrimmage against yourself like Spring game. And we'd have film on ourselves to improve before a real opponent.

Went for it on 4th down because of analytics.

If you are playing LSU run defense, the analytics will favor going for it.

Analytics depend on what play you run on 4th. Analytics tell not to run up the middle which is the opposing teams strength.

Stat wise, Moss didn't out play him.
But when making the clutch pass was necessary, he did outplay in that scenario.
He stood in the pocket and took some hits and completed some clutch passes.
Nuss had a great game but in the clutch, he missed an easy pass to Anderson for likely TD.

This. It was the easiest throw he had all night. I didn't notice it to be as bad live but re-watched it this am and it was a super easy throw that would have resulted in a TD.

One bad pass that y'all keep harping on. Never mind Moss having multiple fumbles and near picks. Or his WRs making crazy "catches" to bail him out. Or the difference in coaching.

all offseason we read about how the running game was going to look different this year (more counters, traps, etc.)

Did you even watch the game? I swear half the people on this board didn't watch the same game that the rest of us did.

They just see us "running the ball up the middle" with zero understanding of the specifics of what goes into a running game.

While I agree that not all of those run plays are the same, I still think there is a point in needing to diversify. You can have 6 different run plays, but what good is that when none of them work when you need them to? I still think it’s crazy that we have zero plays from under center.

I haven't look at the exact stats but we ran the ball pretty good in the second half. Emery broke a few long ones. One on counter for sure. As for the zero plays under center. Welcome to modern college football. The best offense in the history of college football never got under center. I will bet that we see a few under center runs in the future for this team.

Yes they will. Every team has that problem. Did you see Ohio St with Akron for mkst of the first half of that game? Oregon with Idaho?

??????

Is players improving not a good reason to play those games week 2 and give it a better shot?
