re: Brian Kelly is going to have the most talent next year that he's ever had in his coaching

Agreed but it'll depend heavily on if we can stretch defense vertically. We're not really a deep threat passing team this season. The past several games, defenses have sat on everything short and utilized some form of a QB spy. Basically, defenses have learned to mush-rush and keep a spy on Daniels, hoping he'll run vs passing the ball.
The fact that he has a high completion % shows he's cautious (in a good way) with the ball. It also is evident our WR's are getting open. It's pretty hard to get open when defenses are playing the short passing game and jumping routes and yet defenses are still having a hard time locking down our WR's.
We can say Arky gave teams the blueprint but the truth is WE gave them the blueprint by how dominant Perkins is and it was glaring. Teams basically decided to give us a dose of our own medicine and our offense has struggled because of it. JD is a verry accomplished runner and a decent passer. However, when he can run the ball effectively, he goes into a funk and is even more hesitant to pull the trigger on passes.
Before anyone jumps all over me, I'm not saying Daniels can't improve. Improvement is always a possibility. I honestly think he'll be marginally better than this season, next year. However, I don't think we'll make the CFB playoffs. His 16 passing TD's so far this season in 13 games isn't good. The fact that he has 11 rushing TD's helps overall but again, strictly passing he's very average to below average. If I'm totally honest, I think a solid case could be made that he's performing pretty close to how he did in his freshman season. He really hasn't improved much at all. We all thought he turned a corner after the 3-game stretch that culminated in beating Bama but that appears to be fool's gold.
Here's to HOPING the light clicks on for next season but I won't hold my breath. He'll be a 5th year senior and his entire draft status will depend on next season. Scouts will probably expect a lot from him since it'll be his 2nd season in the offensive scheme, and he'll be older than most QB's he'll face and should be a better decision-maker because of it.

Now, if it's Nuss or Howard, sure.
It just has to be. With the OL solidified and a healthy Boutte coming back along with Nabers/BTJ/Hilton you’ve gotta play the guy who actually trusts his receivers.

And who currently has a higher int/td rate.
Kelly will play the best player that puts the team in the best position to win the game. No idea why that’s such a hard pill for you to take.

2 of the picks were against Southern when I’m sure it was really hard to play disciplined.
He was 2:1 against the best defense in the country when they knew we were dropping back every play.

Excuses excuses. If anything it should be easier to be disciplined as you shouldn't have to press against a team like that.

I’m just not worrying about a performance against a team that might lose to IMG.
Against the number one team in the country with the best two years defense in a decade he did stuff like this
Put him and these OL and skill players in the 2019 offense and they’ll be almost as unstoppable albeit somewhat less efficient.

A couple things about TD / INT...
GNs Ints put him on a pace to throw 16 ints if he threw as many times as JD. Not impressive.
Some people are crying for GN so we can air it out more, but interestingly GN threw 1TD for every 23 pass attempts. JD threw 1 TD for every 23.18 attempts. You would think with the significant increase in chance of throwing an Int, GN would have a significantly higher TD to Attempt ratio. NOPE!
So more risk and no more reward. At least JD can rush for a TD.

If our Qb can be consistent as a passer then the sky is the limit for this team. DROPS MIC
I hope JD works in the off season to improve his intermediate passes.
We could be a really special team next year

Prohibitive favorite over the Tide in Tuscaloosa? I don’t think so
We probably won't be favored just because Bama is basically always favored, but if you look at what they are likely to lose vs. what we are losing, LSU seems like it could be the better team going into next year.

Depends on JD5
I like that even a lot of casual fans on social media are jumping on the Nuss Bus.
At this point the only thing keeping it in first gear is stubbornness on the part of CBK.

This isn't this first year Kelly has had to figure out who's going to start at QB between more than one qualified kid. We're in good hands, I'm not worried about it at all.

I have no idea where y’all are getting all of this confidence.
Was it all of the polished pro-style quarterbacks to come out of ND over the last decade?
Or how about this year? I remember watching the spring game where everyone but 5 could pass with timing and accuracy, and thinking “they’re not gonna pick the one crappy passer because he’s fast, right…?
Right?”
It’s pathetic such experienced and highly-paid coaches fell into such an obvious trap.

Yup, if JD is so bad how come GN can't beat him out? Must be a reason. Oh let me guess, CBK is racist. That must be it. CBK would rather have the shittier QB in and risk losses. Derpty Derp.

If only they contacted you since your football I.Q. is so high.

And stop upvoting yourself after you post, you are the only one who doesn't think you are an idiot. Upvoting yourself is so cringe. Nobody agrees with your stupidity.

You can’t see the folly in falling in love with a quarterback’s skill of last resort, running, at the expense of his primary role of getting the ball to the receivers?

Well I guess if you were in charge they never would have invented the option, Navy wouldn't have a football program, and players like Newton, Winston, Manziel, et. al. would never have played QB.
As a football fan I thank the powers that be we aren't subjected to the bullshite type football you are expecting. Hell, even Burrow had designed runs.... BUTBUTBUT IT WAS AT THE EXPENSE OF DERPDERP.
frick Off, your stupid prepubescent low football I.Q. is lame.

You know, if we actually ran the option that would be one thing. But we’re calling dropbacks and expecting 4-5 receivers to go all out on routes while our QB is looking to run first.
Also,
Only one of these guys was run-first. And Jameis ran about as much as JaMarcus.
