I totally agree, which is another reason why I think his teams will only get better year over year. Probably Won’t always be linear (in terms of wins) but this is a program continuing to trend upwards bigly. Big credit to Kelly for that.

22 was a miracle thrown together w twigs and glue, plagued by depth issues. 23 was better but he got the def coaching staff wrong.

I dont think he’ll have either of those things working against him in 24 and this teams floor will keep climbing.

Kalen DeBoer will be out of a job by 2026.

He may fail at Alabama but will have major CFB coaching offers the day he's fired, if that happens.

He was even getting some NFL hype.

Most lists have Kelly top 5. No reason DeBust should sniff the top 5 until he shows he can do it in the SEC. (He won’t)

He can you say “regardless of talent” when he’s been in on the lesser end in most of those games? Do you not think that’s relevant?

Because that’s total nonsense. It’s not everything but it matters. A lot.

From a talent standpoint: 2024 Tigers might be the most pound for pound talented teams he’s ever had

DL is going to be our achilles.

I think he'd be a solid NFL coach.

Do you think no coach who hasn’t coached in the SEC should be on the list? And how do you know he won’t succeed at Bama?

Not really, Baker at Missouri ran 2 DT, 2 DE, 2LB, 2 CB and 3 Safeties. He did a great job of moving folks around, as to Formation, Down and Distance, personnel. I want to get a look at what he does in the Spring.

Baker likes an attacking defense, something LSU was known as. Been a while since we’ve seen it.

The end of the Bowl game, we saw it. Kelly was calling this.

As for the list, those lists change from the start of the season, an the end of the season.

Yep. Upvoted. Those are positives and the kind of things that are expected from an experienced HC.

What was not expected was the total collapse on defense. And I think Kelly saw the light that he had to up his recruiting game to keep pace with the competition.

Where does this sentiment come from?

The guy is a winner. Where do y'all see bust?

There should be some recency bias IMO. They are ranking how good the coaches are right now
So is Dabo where he is on the list because how good he is right now?

He had two years of P5 experience and four in division one. So what has he won exactly?

Which list? Because one of them has Dabo listed as #8. Last year was the first year that Clemson has had less than 10 wins since 2010, and they still went 9-4. Brian Kelly doesn’t have the resume that Dabo does.

In 2018 Kirby Smart had only been a HC for 2 years and hadn’t won a national championship yet. I would have bet that he was a top 5 coach at that point. Having less experience doesn’t automatically make you a worse coach.
