Because he’s a garbage poster.

A few weeks back, he implied he had info on Brennan being lazy and fishing away his offseason. He’s trash.

This is literally a thread comparing them. If you want to not compare them, this ain’t the fricking thread for you.

My first post in this thread was a response to a very specific quote from the article. It got 5 replies and you are still talking about it. No where have I mentioned max Johnson at all. So that’s on you.

Their numbers will never match up. There is nothing to compare. That does not mean Max isn’t set to pass him

If they really want to run joe Brady’s offense and everything it entails, he will be.

was a forced 50/50 ball that should have been knocked down by the DB.

lulz

It was a well thrown ball to a blanketed WR, at a spot the DB couldnt get to

Well there’s 2 problems with your definition. 1- it appoints you the judge of “when plays are needed” giving you the liberty to bring up any play and designate it’s importance.
Ok, down late in the game, trying to win. Johnson made the plays that beat Ole Miss, Brennan did not make the plays to beat Missouri.

2- Johnson failed to “make the plays when needed” vs Florida but you’re using someone getting a dead ball personal foul on a thrown shoe to sell this idea
I'm not debating the dead ball was a huge play; but the fact remains that prior to that play, we were still in the game, on the road against a highly ranked team, with a decimated roster. Florida didn't play their top receiving threat, boo hoo. Niether did we, nor our second, or basically half the team.

I don't have a bias. I'm 100% fine with Brennan, if he starts. I was pumped with his numbers the start of last season, I thought he was playing his way into a high draft slot. He might have the best arm in the SEC, as a starter (I don't think Finley passes Nix).

But again, the fact that he hasn't yet been named, that raises a lot of questions. He WAS the starter, he's the senior, paid his dues, don't lose your spot due to injury, etc etc. Nobody would question it if he had been named starter at the end of the Ole Miss game, "he's our guy and we look forward to his return". Johnson (and Finley) remain freshmen, they just happened to get some bonus PT.

Instead, they seem to be taking an extended look at Johnson, and giving him every chance to take the spot. I think that's why Finley left, and why we haven't heard Brennan's name as starter yet.
I don't think it's his legs; I think it's his mental game, combined with remaining eligibility. If he's close now, he could be a title contender with experience in a couple years.

Johnson threw an ugly red zone pick against OM late that allowed them to go up by 8. Ole Miss, down by 5, got down to our 28 with under 2 minutes left before they fumbled away the win.

Brennan got us to the one as time expired vs Mizzou. The line couldn’t get one yard on 1st and goal for that win.

Don’t even get me started on the shoe. These QBs W/L records could have EASILY been flipped.

That’s not true at all. The fact that Brady can take advantage of a semi mobile QB doesn’t mean his system requires one. There isn’t an OC in the country that wouldn’t call a few draw plays with an athletic QB like Burrow.

And let’s not act like Johnson’s mobility is a game changer.

It opens up a whole section of the playbook that they cannot access with Myles. So yea, you kind of want that

The overwhelming majority of elite teams are not winning with QBs like Myles Brennan anymore. Not guys that will finish with negative yards rushing on the season. This has long been becoming a trend

Wrong! Ali Gaye made the plays to defeat Ole Miss.

Give the man some credit. He deserves it.

So we have a thrown shoe and a QB strip and fumble recovery for you guys success.
Hope the luck continues.

Dude, Fla had the 90th ranked passing defense, and Max couldnt get the crucial 1st down, without a thrown shoe??

Max's completion percentage was 58.7% for all games (including A&M/Bama/Auburn non-starts) which is not much different than Myles' 60.3%

Also when it comes to "Total Yards and TD's" for games started, Max's avg stats significantly improve and surpass Myle's.

Myles: 359ypg, 3.7 tds/game, 1 int/game
Max: 385ypg, 4.0 tds/game, 0.5 int/game

Max had a rushing game while Myles got sacked frequently in the MsSt game and had no significant running yards or TD's in any other game.

Will be better this year with improved play calling. He’ll run for 300 yards or so. Kid is athletic. Was dunking a basketball in 8th grade

The vast majority of his stats are from that Ole Miss game where Boutte couldn't be stopped. Boutte got 308 that game.

Max's next best total was 239 yards..

Myles went 345, 337, 430 last year. Not exactly close
