Compound fracture means the bone should be sticking out through the skin. Kind of hard to not notice that.

I’m guessing he misspoke. Apparently it was a displaced fracture as they had to set it back into place.

If you have heard the term but don't know what a compound fracture is and you have a bone broken in multiple places, you might think that is a compound fracture. I did at one time, long ago.

Kind of like talking about the humerus bone. It is simply the humerus or the upper arm bone. Doesn't mean he is making this up.

I broke my humerus and can tell you that no man can break that bone and go fishing. Story seems fishy

Laser arm but injury prone. Best case scenario Max dominates, but gets banged up after we Beat Bama. Brennan starts November destroys people Max comes back win win the SEC, playoff, and Natty. Miles transfers his final season.

The radial nerve lies right next to the humerus and can easily be injured with a compound humerus fracture, especially if you start to get swelling and stretching in that area. A radial nerve injury could have easily ended his football career.

Was awfully hush hush to start with, not like team or school would ever try and "massage" the story from a PR perspective. That never happens

How was it hush hush? It happened over the weekend and an announcement was made Tuesday and a statement from his Father on Wednesday. Why do people think that because they don't know all the details while he's on the way to the hospital that is some cover-up by the school. Maybe, just maybe, they were waiting until they knew the severity of the injury and he was out of surgery before making a press release

yeah, you just don't get a bruise with a compound fracture, but the freaking bone is sticking through the skin like everyone is sayin on here. Brennan, I know he just fell on it, but being a ball player and all he should know to have tried to turn his body while falling to try and land more on his left shoulder or left side. By doing that he would have absorbed the force of the fall better, it's kinda similar to preparing to take a hit on the field or landing on the field after a hit. It's better landing on your side than landing with all your body weight on top of your arm like he did. One time I broke my wrist trying to stop my fall, I landed with my full body weight on top of the wrist breaking it, I was trying to stop my fall with my hand breaking the wrist.

On a need to know basis. Public doesn’t need to know.

If I had to guess, it was probably an oblique/displaced fracture. This is one of the most common I see with falls. It doesn’t protrude through the skin but is noticeably displaced. Not sure how anyone would be able to fish with that type of pain.

Danny Etling was a 5th year grad transfer who started 10 games for LSU in the 2016 season by the time Myles came to campus in 2017.

And then yeah, Myles got beat out by Joe Burrow, who went on to lead the tigers to a Natty, win the heisman winner, and be the 1st pick of the draft.

But yeah, lets just shite on Myles and ignore those facts.

And it matters why? Who gives a shite. He broke his arm…he’s out…Max is in. Why do you care about the details?

I'm trying to figure what these guys think the grand conspiratorial alternative story might be.

Dad said it wrong. A compound fracture by definition comes through the skin.

I’m staying out of it, but someone close to family told me he was water skiing when it happened. He would have no reason to lie or make it up. Who really cares, I guess. Next man up.

Seems like a weird thing daddy would feel like he had to cover up and change into a story about slipping on a dock. Both seem sort of equally 'shite happens' type deals.

Unless his gear magically landed in the boat in the proper place when he fell, he would have had to pick it up and put it in there. You would think that he would discover that the bruise was not a bruise at that point.
