He's one of the most over liked players in LSU history.
Who are you?

@DellengerAdv: Mainieri says it was his idea to make Bregman off-limits to media. Mainieri says "I take the blame" for hitting woes. #LSU

Good. Now, this silly thread can end.

I wouldn't be surprised if this is all Mainieri's doing, just to try and take some of the pressure off.
I said this earlier in the thread.

I just like when I'm right and all the other arse clowns hating on Bregman are wrong.

From the Advocate blog LINK
quote:
There’s a fix, they all say: be more aggressive. Mainieri took the blame for the hitting woes, saying that he’s somewhat confused his players with a small ball scheme.
It’s time for that to end, the coach said.
“What I’ve done is taken the aggressiveness out of our hitters,” he said. “I think we need to get back to playing … the style of play Paul Mainieri grew up with. And that is to be an aggressive, attacking offense.”
“I think I’ve confused the kids a little bit, trying to make them be very selective at the plate,” the coach continued, “and yet then when we get into clutch situations, we want them to be able to come through and be confident and aggressive and I think that’s a conflict for young kids. They don’t necessarily know how to balance those two ideas together.”
Said Christian Ibarra about the hitting: “Coach talked to us about that, trying to be more aggressive at the plate this weekend.”

I don't think lack of aggressiveness has been the problem. Maybe a lack of confidence by playing more small ball. Imo we are taking too many defensive swings early in counts, instead of working deeper and picking the right time/count/situation to sit on a pitch and take an aggressive hack.

I am a huge Breggers supporter, but this is a disappointing.
He made this his team, and he has to represent the team. Be a man about it.

Apparently you didn't read the thread. It was Mainieri's decision, not Alex's.

I never read any comments from the players. If they did one interview per month I wouldn't see the difference.

Hopefully the change of approach at the plate helps.......but i dont want them swinging at bad pitches
