What a good hitting coach will do.

quote:do you say that when he slumped his arse the last few weeks at times? No go ask Bagwell what Bregman does and his work ethic is about. He is still the guy they gave a key to open the cages at 2 in the morning. It is also a lot of hard work!

Bregman is an example of what being in a pro system and weight room can do, also add trainers, nutritionist, cook, physical therapist, best traveling, etc

By hitting coach, you must mean maniacal work ethic right? Thought so.

How about instead, we get a head coach that can teach hitting or recruit?
I couldn’t care less who’s the volunteer coach.
We win in spite of our head coach, not because. * Not every game. He’s an adequate coach, just not a good match for LSU. *

One thing I remember bregman saying when he started hitting a lot of homers during his rookie season his response was “at LSU they teach a different style of hitting”. That says it all for me about this coaching staff.

if youre doing this shite it's all for show. You may actually be a hard worker but asking for keys at 2AM is the type of shite you do when you want everyone to know you're a hard worker. Some JJ Watt shite.

This is very fun since Breg's slumps were a huge reason people hated Javi.

I remember hearing this. What I don't remember was what the type of hitting it was. Is it possible that they try to teach line drives instead of lifting the ball? I'm seriously asking.
I know this board has a butch fest when we hit lots of pop ups. Complaining that we only try to hit home runs.

I am all for moving on from Paul.
With that being said, this might be the dumbest shite I have read on here recently.
Were all 1400+ victories he has achieved in spite of him?
How bout the SEC regular and Tourney Championships? Were those in spite of him as well?
Guess that CWS title was in spite of him too.
The man may have lost his fire and needs to ride off into the sunset but do not act like he has not done shite.

Bregman has been an exceptional ball player the day his mama’s egg got fertilized

Do you even context? Of all the points I made, all you care about was my bitching that we win inspite of him. It was not the point of the post.
I think CPM is an awful match for LSU, he’s weak in areas where we need an actual coach. He delegates areas where a real coach would lead.

That’s exactly what they were trying to do. Remember Bregman was here before they changed the balls.
He was on the team that hit bombs to the warning track over and over again in Omaha.
The NCAA made it to where everyone had to forget about the homerun for a couple of years.
Paul adjusted and that’s why we had a bunch of small ballers.
They changed the balls and we changed back to go after guys like Beloso, Bianco, Garza and Willis.

Your post concluded with "win in spite of him."
Your other points are we need a coach that can recruit or teach hitting. Are you telling me that he cannot recruit with the classes he lands? He may leave some things to be desired at hitting but come on man... he cannot recruit?
Your other point is that you couldn't care less who our volunteer coach is. Do I need to respond to that if I agree? Will that make you feel better?
Now feel free to answer me... I stated that I feel it is time to move on from Paul. Do we really win in spite of him? I will hang up and listen.

Many head coaches teach hitting.
Ours does not.
Many head coaches are out there recruiting constantly, ours delegates it.
Volunteer coaching position is difficult to get an elite experienced coach. You know, since they’re not paid.

It’s pretty well documented that he hit the weights, gained mass, and increased loft in his swing in his first pro offseason.
