I understand it will take him sometime to get his legs back under him, however he doesn't seem like he's close to the player that he was before he went down with the ankle injury.

We will need his scoring ability on the wing the rest of the way. Big game on the road Wednesday against the Hogs. Anyone have any info. on the ankle......?

To me looks like he just got rushed back a little too early. Not that he can't play at all, but if he can't do what makes him good (use his athleticism), he's basically an average player at best.

my thoughts exactly. He was a big time leaper before the injury. Looks like he was just going thru the motions the last two games....

I have no idea about his ankle but expect that it could take some time to fully trust that it's healed.

Sampson has a great shot and decent size for his position. I rarely see him taking it to the hoop although sort of tuned out last season when it went downhill. Has he ever had that element to his game?

before the injury yes. He wasn't settling for the 3. He has the ability to get into the lane and create. i just don't see him being aggressive at all since coming back from the injury.

He just needs to work through it as the ankle gets stronger and hope it does not get re-injured. This team will be a difficult matchup when he gets back to double figures scoring.

I hate to say it but he brings nothing to the team at this current time. I’m sure it’s due to injury but he’s been horrible

I agree but it looks to me that it's more of a confidence thing and getting comfortable with the stability of the ankle rather than a physical problem. Looks tentative even on wide open shots. Sometimes that takes more time than a physical issue

He looks at of sorts on offense. Just needs to get back in the flow. He has been playing hard defense the last two games though. He's a good player and when he gets back healthy will be a big player for us.

I actually think he’s starting to come around. He was driving and making some plays off the bounce vs. the last two games where he mostly hung around the perimeter.

Probably mostly mental. Just needs to get confidence in the ankle.

Ive inured my ankle like his injury. Especially in basketball, that injury is a tough one to fully recover from during a course of a season. Even once it heals, the ankle wont be %100 till after the season and him not playing on it.The main thing is mental. You are leary of going up for shots, especially inside because of all the conjestion. Hopefully for him, he can work through it and get back to be able to contribute to this team.

That's not true at all. He's LSU's best wing defender...by far. And defense is this particular team's Achilles heel. LSU can score. They have been a very efficient offensive team all season and that has largely continued into SEC play thus far (though SEC defenses have made things much more difficult). If Sampson can be a solid defender, then that is MUCH more important to this team than him scoring in double-figures night in and night out.

He'll come around offensively. But right now LSU MUST have him be a good defender. Wade can live with the lack of scoring

The fact that he plays 15+ mins a game lol and shows no sign of nothing hurting him makes your point invalid lol it’s all about finding his rhythm again

Not sure if you've ever watched Sampson, but he is the epitome of an above the rim player. He's left the floor once since he's came back, the ankle is still clearly not giving him enough confidence to be the player he is. If it wasn't bothering him, he'd be driving and going up the rim like he always has.

Jesus give the guy time, he’s coming off of one of the worst types of nagging basketball injures.
