Sean Payton was an NFL scab QB that sucked.

But he can coach offense and QBs like a motherfricker.

No I root against him for handling the situation so poorly. He constantly had excuses for why everything was everyone else's fault and he would tweet at players that transferred away and tell them how smart their decision to leave was.

One of the finger pointing events that I remember most was in the 2015 Bama game when he over threw Foster Moreau in and he blamed the pick on Foster cuz he "dropped it" despite the fact that he leapt and barely got a finger tip on it.

It is incredible to me how fast this kid’s stock is growing in the coaching ranks.

Good for him!

I was wondering how long it would take for the usual "shite on Les Miles" types to show up.

While I get this, the usual profile for these kinds of failed QBs turned good coach is a guy that knew the position mentally but didn't have the physical tools to do it. Brandon, had ALL the physical tools but seemed to lack the football IQ part of the game.

Now I am done shitting on the kid. It would seem that he really does understand the game and maybe he just struggled with applying what he knew under pressure. Its also possible that he has worked hard and learned the things he didn't know as a QB as a coach. I know when I was 22, I told one of my buddies that I wish I knew as much about football at 18 as I did now cuz I would have been a much better player.

No cap, but it's a trend that back-up QBs make the best teachers and coaches. i.e. Trent Dilfer, Jason Garrett, etc.

Plus Brandon Harris is off the charts smart.

There is a difference between having a low football IQ (i.e. knowing the protections, plays, etc.) and panicking under the lights and forgetting it all.

He isn't being asked to suit up in pads and a helmet. By all accounts at LSU he was very smart and knew the offense well. He just lost his mind under the lights while being rushed.

It’s about time y’all realize the QBs of the Miles era weren’t bad, the system just set them up for failure

13-17 attempts per game, mostly on 3rd and long is a disaster for build QB confidence

Things didn't work out in the long run for Brandon here at LSU, but the kid had a strong work ethic, played hard, practiced hard ... someone who is dedicated to learning may not become the greatest at execution but may become great at teaching what they've learned. Glad to see him succeeding and rising so fast in the coaching ranks. Hope he has a fantastic coaching career.

Les Miles had such a talent for making his QBs regress over time. JJ and Harris both played reasonably well as freshman, both played fairly well as sophomores and both shite the bed as juniors and seniors.

Makes you wonder what kind of stuff was being put on their plate as upperclassmen that wasn't as young bucks.
