As a team you're right, but the Romero situation is all about taking some accountability for yourself. No amount of fundamentals will keep you from lallygagging when you've simply given up.

Well, tomorrow is a new day. Technically, I guess it's already tomorrow, but I hope Poche slams the door on these bats and the Tigers get this to Monday.

Paps was dropping balls from jump. Affected things like called pitches and Langes confidence. Lets no forget his watching a cock shot on a 3-2 count with Jordan running.

And Im one who defends his defense normally.

He'll be on some roster in North Dakota, near the Canadian border

What exactly did Romero do?

Hit a popup to the outfield and was slowly jogging between first base and second base.. the outfielder misplayed the ball and dropped it.. then easily threw Romero out at 2nd to end the game.

Either Romero should have just stayed at first or be running to second in case he does misplay it.. There's no reason for what he did.. either run or stay put at first.. he just gave himself up.

Stuff seemed to be working in our favor so who knows what could have happened. We would have been one batter away from the tying run at the plate.

At least we hit their closer and got his pitch count up. I am worried about Poche facing this type of lineup, but I hope he proves me wrong.

Yeah he had some wtf moments, but he was squarely a net zero compared to others tonight.

The Latz thing is the most questionable to me.. but not because it was even Latz coming in.. it was to take Bugg out after just one inning.. Bugg looked good, keep this game within reach like Poche did in relief versus Rice.. and who knows how things would have shaped up.

We scored 8 runs and that was with their two best pitchers throwing a lot.. We could have kept this within that reach had Latz not had that inning.

I hope we win game two

Which is bullshite because he was squeezed on that 2-2 pitch.

You right about that.

Lange did get hosed on that pitch. I actually remember that exact at-bat.

Has anyone yet figured out why he yanked Bugg?

Hell if you ever let him extend it's there right?

My take is Romero wants out of LSU quickly, seriously I cannot really blame him. He has more production per at bat than any hitter on the team and it isn't really that close.

He sees other teammates going thru slumps and allowed to play thru the difficulties. Maybe, I'm wrong and it could be a continuation of the basic horrid base running by the Tigers.

LSU can still get to the CWS. They did well against CC's best two pitchers and hopefully burned both for the weekend but I doubt they wouldn't hesitate to use them both Monday if needed The fact that a coach of 20+ years allowed the AA closer to pitch 3 innings with the score differential tells me that CC is very happy with their first victory in five tries.....ever in the Supers, and their first chance in what, six years.

Even with the brain dead base running by Romero, Bryce Jordan needs to sit next game.

I don't think Romero's play made much of a difference. 6,7,8 was on deck. Reid, Wofford, Paps. I highly doubt we get through those three guys without getting out.

Eta: My mistake, Breaux would have been in the 7 spot.

You are so wrong about this.
