you didn't disprove anything. We went to 7 overtimes against aTm. How many over times did we go to out of our 3 losses in 2013?

And still finished 8-5?

How many does he have? Are they all Duke-trained physicists?

His last one started an ill fated recruiting thread in which he thought we were finished in December.

I am neither an O hater nor a CheriO.

You CheriOs lack critical thinking to the point that if anyone says something good about Miles you think they are dogging O or if they point out a logical flaw in reasoning (like the mythical 3 year downward trajectory) you accuse them of lacking critical thinking. Flawed reasoning at it’s best.

But that’s OK, you’re allowed to be wrong if you want to.

I’m not sure what’s your point?

Just to provide some context in case you missed it, First Cut claimed that Miami wasn’t a bad team because their 3rd ranked defense.

I responded that 2014 LSU had a top 10 defense as well (#10). But I don’t think you’ll see anyone singing the praises of the 2014 team any time soon.

it wasn't that it was a 3 year downward trajectory, it was not even finishing in the top 10 since 2011 combined with ending the 2015 season going 2-3 in the last 5 games (1-3 in SEC play) and starting the 2016 season going 2-2 (1-1 in SEC play) after just coming off a 8-5 2014 season combined with stubbornly keeping Cameron and not even trying to do modernize the offense. Those 3 or 4 things just added up and it just looked like the program was about to completely crash. Just wasn't a lot of optimism around that Miles could flip the script back again to like those 2005-2007 years. He really didn't have many people with much confidence in him at that time. After he started 2016 2-2 while doing nothing to change things on offense (keeping Cam), even I was ready for a change.

As several have stated, what rise?

The "rise" most fans talk about under Orgeron is going from unranked the day he was named interim HC to ranked #6 now. Obviously, that measuring stick isn't perfect, but neither is the one you laid out. Here is what you posted:

quote:

SEC West finish
(Miles)
2005 -- 1st
2006 -- 3rd
2007 -- 1st
2008 -- 3rd
2009 -- 2nd
2010 -- 3rd
2011 -- 1st
2012 -- 2nd
2013 -- 3rd
2014 -- 4th
2015 -- 4th
(Orgeron interim)
2016 -- 3rd
(Orgeron)
2017 -- 3rd
2018 -- 3rd

A couple of corrections... We finished 5th in the West in 2014. And 2016 should be worded "Miles/Orgeron interim) because Miles lost to Auburn; if we'd won that game (and maybe Orgeron would have), we finish 2nd in the West.

Miles was not fired for his 2005-2013 results. If the question is "are we rising?" we should compare to Miles' 2014-2016 West finishes:

2014 -- 5th
2015 -- 4th
2016 -- 1-1 SEC record (fired after week 4)

Orgeron
2016 -- 4-2 SEC record (took over after week 4)
2017 -- 3rd
2018 -- 3rd

Based on the above, there's been a slight improvement in our West finishes. And if you want to get subjective, we were much closer to finishing 2nd in 2017/2018 than we were in 2014/2015. In 2017, all we needed was an Auburn loss to Bama, and in 2018, all we needed was the refs to correctly rule Mond's knee down during live play so that the clock essentially would have run out.

By comparison, we were not even close to finishing 2nd in 2014 or 2015. In 2014 we finished 5th and lost by 34 to the 4th place team. In 2015 we finished 4th and lost by 17 to the 3rd place team.

By no means has the Orgeron era been perfect, but there has been definite improvement compared to the final 2.5 years of the Miles tenure. Let's see if that improvement keeps up; 2019 looks to be a promising year and recruiting is going fantastic. I am cautiously optimistic.

Odd keeping a OC that produced SEC record setting, and Top 5 offense at LSU is retarded, while keeping, make that rehiring, Ensminger after not even sniffing a Top LSU offense is genius.

You see, that is a more reasoned argument. I may not completely agree with everything but it is reasoned. It was getting difficult to defend Miles, though I was hesitant to move on him without having our ducks in a row on a new hire and thought Alleva couldn’t do that.. I wasn't really happy with the hire but I have been pleasantly surprised and hope that continues.

Dude!

You are hard-wired to be negative.....its the only thing you can do because you're still pissed off about O being hired.
Absolutely pathetic. We're gearing up for what should be a great season and you still want to whine about...well he lost 3 games or hes not doing any better than Miles....blah blah blah.

Everyone knows he hasn't done any better than what miles did at the end of his run....yet you keep repeating the same stupid shite as if its new news instead of old news.
What? You think you're going to suddenly change people's minds about O by doing this?

The difference right now is we are trending up and O is addressing issues that need to be addressed to shore up our deficiencies. He's made some fairly radical changes.....something Miles was never gonna do.

Try to relax, pull the stick out of your arse, and see what this season has to offer. If it's bad....you'll have a ton of company....present company included....ready to run him out of town.

Numbers that lead to futility. If he was so good, why isn't he here putting up lofty numbers still yet?

GFY!

Cameron walked into an offensive group in 2013 that was at talented as you'll ever find at LSU. Across the board. After that, we couldn't muster a respectable passing offense.

But as usual you’re overlooking the fact that he actually produced. We’ve had other stacked offenses, talent wise, that haven’t even come close to that kindve production and efficiency so that statement holds no water. You have a habit of diminishing coaches and players who’ve actually achieved while at the same time bragging on and defending things that never happened or haven’t happened yet. You’re always using double standards.
