I’m confused about your post. It’s common knowledge that you stick to the administration narrative when discussing coaches, etc.

Is it the administration’s position that Aranda isn’t performing well?

Chaisson was also sent off the edge to jam another blocker into the pocket, creating pressure on the quarterback.

I assume (from watching the game) that 'Jam = bullrush"? Is that the best use of Chaisson? especially considering he gives up 60+ to all lineman?

Not sure why in the 4th we didnt send pressure up the middle while still containing with DE's to keep Sam in the pocket.

Because if the LBs over pursue and Ehlinger escapes up the middle he would have been gaining 15+ yard chunk plays with his feet, which is exactly what the coaching staff wanted to take away.

The fact is the staff (I'm sure Aranda made this decision himself) decided that if Ehlinger was going to beat them it would be with his arm and not his legs. The kid did just that and deserves credit for it. The scheme didn't fail, it did exactly what they wanted it to do. Ehlinger just executed.

No it's not. He had a bad last drive vs A&M, the defense played great for 3.75 quarters.

You can’t just ignore overtime, either for the defense or the offense. It happened.

frick you back. I like Aranda and I am glad we have him, but with the lead in the last minute vs. Notre Dame in the Citrus and A&M last year , his defense melted with the games on the line. Fact.

Basically just trying to collapse the pocket around the QB by pushing all the linemen in - as opposed to simply standing up the OL, creating gaps that the LBs can shoot through to make plays on the QB. The coaches thought that Ellinger might be able to escape the LB, and break free, but with the pocket collapsing around him, he would be less likely to break free.

That's how I read it anyway.

You are right about that. To me O has done a marvelous job having been dealt the hand he was dealt. Over at Tigerfan they attacked O and E constantly

You can acknowledge that it happened while also acknowledging that every snap played in a game skews the advantage a bit more towards the offense. That, IMO, is the takeaway moving forward from both the aTm and Texas games - we need to find a way to balance offensive tempo with defensive performance.

It really all comes down to a) not going 3-and-out on offense and b) getting 3rd down stops on defense. I expect tackling to improve over the next few weeks. Consider that even getting two more stops vs. Texas would have led to a 21+ point margin of victory. That’s how close we were to a blowout.

A small contingent of the fan base has an inexplicable vendetta against Aranda. It’s odd.

same with the clowns who blamed chavis when he had no offensive support or they expected him to stop real good teams every damn drive to keep saving miles' arse like always. or the crew who always said " it is time for a new OC"

how many fricking times did we see that posted here? we knew who the problem was. it was the HC not the OC

look aranda is good. no denying that. but he has yet to have a top 3 d in nation like saban/muschamp, pellini or chavis. he also has never been ranked#1 in the sec in any metric. just the facts. he needs to step it up especially for his pay.

You game plan to win the game, not just to pad stats. I think it was made clear enough that O and Aranda both believed Sam was a bigger run threat than pass threat or they would’ve blitzed more, and I think they were mostly right. They wanted to take away the run threat and force him to make great throws. And it mostly took away his rushing, and he did make a lot of perfect throws that were still well-defended. The TD throw in the middle of the EZ had TWO defenders who got hands within 3 inches of the ball. Sometimes you just tip your hat.
The game was still 3 inches and a Fulton stumble from being a 45-24 win.

My only knock is the poor tackling in the 2nd half. That’s very fixable.

Overtime is a whole different ballgame. The defense played great for most of the game.

I agree Aranda is a great coach, but he doesn't have the tools he had last year. The same way chavis doesn't have the tools at Arkansas now. He doesn't look like a great defensive coach now. 2011 was one the best defenses in LSU history, but they had players on that defense. Luckily the offense has figured it out and the support is now on the offensive side of the ball. I will still take Aranda as a DC before anyone else out there now. Oregeron is now going to focus his time and effort on the defense now, since he knows Ensminger and Brady have the offense moving.

The idea that the "administration" has propagandists on this board is the most retarded and low IQ concept the rantards have come up with yet.

It reminds me of "Russian Collusion"

Yeah he’s not wrong. The defense needs to improve dramatically headed into SEC play. He was stating facts against his claim, nothing wrong with that.

Well on majority of those conversions, they had a chance to stop them but just missed tackles

If only Aranda would learn how to wrap up then his scheme may work

Absolutely.

Missed tackles plus precision passing

The melt is misplaced.

I would like to know how many missed tackles we had. It seemed like most of the night we had players in position to make the tackle and they failed to do so. I think it was more of a tackling issue than a scheme issue.
