Lion leadoff batter walks in the 2nd. Will score a high percentage of the time.

Does Rice's pitcher look like he is laboring out there to anyone else or is it just me?

Tough call. I think I'd rather Kyle.

I would imagine pitching at 9 am isn't optimal for him.

I wanted to start a thread about this, but I'll just ask here first...any reason why LSU doesn't schedule Rice more often in the pre-SEC schedule? seems like it's been quite a few years since they've played a weekend series.

2 things I loved about our game last night:

1. Scored the winning runs in the 1st inning.
2. Every starting position player had a hit.

Fraley's HR was an absolute bomb.

I can't answer that. Maybe A&M is our token Texas opponent now.

Is it just me or is this game dog slow? They may not get it finished today.

Throws to first and foul balls are killing me. I want the strike zone to be the size of the umpire right now.

It's not that slow, probably just feels that way because of all those throws to 1st. Still on a 3-hour pace.

i assume that part of it has to do with the number of northern teams that have to travel south and west for the winter, so both LSU and Rice need to host them. but LSU hosted Cal State a few years back. I don't see why once every few years you could do a home and away with Rice, TCU, SMU, UT, etc. Seems like it would be a great opportunity to get in some good RPI and opponents earlier in the season.

It would certainly be a more interesting matchup than say LSU-Cincinnati.

Ben's nephew ended up at SELU because they recruited him hard during his junior year in high school and offered a big percentage of scholarship before any of the big boys got involved.

And Sceroler may have pitched better down the stretch than Cedotal, Southeastern'd Friday night guy.
