Players and coaches have to not look at the scoreboard right now. We ain't scoring that many runs in one inning and all it'll do is make them press. If we can just grind it out and get a couple runs an inning, maybe one big one we can get back in if Fury & Co. can hold their hitters

Actually there is another school of thought that US Coaches protect their pitchers too much. In Japan, their pitch counts are far higher than ours. Also with practice, etc. these guys have a ton more time on their arms than just the game. Instead of coaching volume and endurance, we pitch extremes, where we may have a guy go longer one game instead of building their endurance over time.
The increase in arm issues are because we are trying to teach 12 year olds 4 pitches instead of proper mechanics.
