Why is the (e) used? I'm assuming easy. Why not just say South Carolina or southern cal?

It's for east or west. USCw, meaning the one on the west coast, meaning Southern Cal. USCe, meaning the one on the east coast, meaning South Carolina.

USCe = USC east
USCw = USC west

If USC was going to offer Orgeron a head coaching job they would have done so after his stint as intrem HC. They are not going to consider him this time around.

In all seriousness, I am so glad we have not gone through what Tennessee, Texas, Florida, USC (Trojans), Michigan, etc. have gone through.

USC isn't going to offer Orgeron, because it would be admitting that they were wrong.
Athletic directors and presidents of schools are super arrogant and full of themselves, especially at a big-name school like Southern Cal.
