Oh, I don't. I've seen it mentioned in several different sources that his child has already been born. If not, he should absolutely be with his gf.

I live in the real world and have taken off to be there for the birth of my child. Had to reset a hearing in fact. And guess what? The “real world” understood, didn’t care, and said congratulations.

Whoops. Better make that recording Season 3 Matlock reruns instead of live Judge Judy. Still not considered a major work/life sacrifice, Counselor.

Having been a new parent a couple of years ago, I couldn't imagine being there for the birth and then just leaving to go play in a football game. I stayed there in the hospital with my wife for the next two days until she was released to go home. IMO, this is one of those life events that trumps anything else going on. Hell, Hunter Mahan withdrew from a golf tournament he was leading (with a $1 million purse for 1st place) to be there for the birth of his child. Some things in life are simply more important than a game, a job, etc.

What about that quote do you think is a tell I'm not an attorney? Yes, I had to call opposing counsel and advise them my wife went into labor the morning of a hearing. She was scheduled to be induced several days later, but our daughter had other plans. And yes, opposing counsel understood, congratulated me, we reset the hearing a week, and life went on. I hope you also realize that FMLA covers things like that and "the real world" has no choice but to excuse you for things like childbirth. But if you think it makes you sound cool on the internet to post like you have, then don't let me stand in your way

I don't think the mother's OBGYN is going to schedule an induction based on the LSU football schedule
She's already had the baby, dumbfrick!

Absolutely, true. Unlike your claim of being an Attorney.

got you down for the take that athletes participating in major sports should not compete in sports for several days after the birth of their child. Others may have a different view. I just don't think it's a big deal.

Missing a football game on a Saturday when your baby was born on a Wednesday is strange. If there were complications that’s one thing. But that isn’t the issue here

His kid wasn't born on a Wednesday. From the looks of his instagram, his child was born sometime last night, Thursday. Hospitals typically want mothers and the baby to stay in the hospital for a couple days after childbirth, especially first time parents.

Man I took off two weeks with the first child and a month with my second!! Nothing and I mean nothing was going to prevent me from being there and after seeing the birth of my child nothing was going to make me rush away

Plus he would have already missed several days of practice. This is a big moment in his life, just give him the week off and let him be with his family.

Not anymore. Baby will be out in 24-36 hours and so will mother unless it’s a c section that the doctor wants to monitor for the mother, but baby would still be discharged

Our most recent baby was born on Tuesday at 11am. We were discharged by 4pm on Wednesday

Either way, if all is healthy why would he not play on Saturday? That’s two days with baby and mom, and then her mother could stay with her for the few hours he goes to practice and the game. It’s strange

Missing a few hours for a few days isn’t exactly abandoning the baby or mom….

She must’ve gone to the hospital Wednesday, He probably missed practice yesterday and possibly Wednesday, isn’t practicing today, not to mention we’re loaded at wr and it’s New Mexico. He’s also a few months removed from multiple surgeries. Not a big deal to give him a weekend off and not hard to figure out why.

They are special and you think he should miss Those moments for a game?
They are special and make no mistake, My Man - that game is his job.
That game is on the path that leads him to a solid future the family he's started. If CBK is flexible enough to let him skip the game I'm thinking he'd be amenable to KB being at the hospital, showing up to play, then going right back to the hospital.

Did no one here find a renewed enthusiasm/work ethic for their career after the birth of their children - at least after their first child was born?
