If Boutte can't get separation against Southern U then he might have problems.

If only we had had a QB who stays in the pocket and goes through his professions, is accurate, has a big arm but doesn’t make boneheaded YOLO throws.

I assume on history you’re talking about Quittin’ Brenner, but that does not describe his actual play.

Really? Because all I’ve been seeing is a lot of bitching and shitting on Daniels as well. Daniels overall is doing a really good job of moving the offense down the field and people are still refusing to give him any credit.

Sorry I wanted the him over the one-read scrambler or the guy who rolls to his left and throws late into triple coverage.

Why isn't he on the team? Why isn't he the starting quarterback right now? If he's as good as you say, why didn't he win the job?

You must have missed the part where Jordan Rogers pointed out that Boutte was drawing double coverage and that ball was supposed to go to one of 3 receivers on the left side that were all single covered and wide open..
ball hit him in the numbers with no defenders really close. None of that matters

Safety was fixin to come through his grill but as you said he could have caught it. If he wants to play in next level he will have to.

My point was that JD is not running the pass offense as designed. He will get better I hope. The play mentioned above was essentially the same one we scored two TD's on in the 4th...

Also go look at the first TD of the Southern game. JD makes a great run for the pylon! Go look and see where Boutte was on that play... dead center of the EZ with nobody within 5yds of him before JD tucks and runs. Guess who was the first person to run over to JD and pick him up off the ground and give him a hug... KB thats who.

Net outcome was a TD but JD will become elite when he learns to find his receivers. I suspect his wheels have always served him well and old habits are hard to break. That is probably why he transferred here.

Max Johnson made a living throwing the ball up to Bouttie and Besh

We should play Nuss... Is that your point?

Actually he does not have to start making those throws because Nuss is not ready.

Not really. He IS doing a pretty good job so far, and has even looked great at times, such as the last two drives of the FSU game.

Some of us are just talking about what he can do to get to the next level. If Daniels could combine his athleticism and improving accuracy with a little better pocket awareness and ability to read the field and throw to space, then you are talking about an almost unstoppable QB.

He legitimately thinks Danny Etling could and should start for multiple NFL teams this year. He’s not all there, and his opinion should be ignored.

There’s no way he was making those awful throws like Nuss. We’ve seen enough of Myles to know he doesn’t treat the ball like Mardi Gras beads

I would've loved to have seen him start as well. Right up until the first drive of the FSU game when I realized it would've been 3rd and 36 after our first three plays.

Yes, Brennan wouldve lit up Southern for 400 yds of passing and at 4:43 of the video, he definitely wouldve hit Boutte over the middle for the TD. Assuming he was still alive after the FSU game.

The dude left for a reason. He saw the writing on the wall with this o-line, One of both of the other QB's were outplaying him, or a combination of both.

Said this guy on the Jack Bech TD pass. Yes, Bech got wide open, but if you watch Bouttes route he had him. JD didn’t see it/throw it , then had to scramble and luckily Bech got open then

Unfortunately for you no one will ever know that, on account of Brenner quitting.

I agree. Daniels is first in the SEC and 5th nationally in QBR, has completed 78% of his passes, and hasn't turned the ball over. He also runs effectively, albeit a little too over-enthusiastically. We have issues on offense but I don't think JD is the problem.

I really would have liked to have seen what he could do, but I have to agree, his head wasn't in it. Although after seeing Nuss on Saturday, I'm kind of wishing Brennan was still holding a clip board for us.

I think his biggest problem against Southern was trying to decide which open receiver to throw the ball to. That was the worst college football team I've ever seen in person.

They were so bad, a guy walked out on the field because he figured it was some sort of flag football game he could join.

Because BK and MD are obsessed with mobile QBs.
