We already knew this, JD will start and play every snap unless we blow them out or he gets hurt. Nothing has changed or will change on that front.
BK is Les Miles lite. I won’t even call him 2.0 because that would mean I think he will win a NC, which I highly doubt.

By the time he’s done his QB track record will make Les Miles look like Andy Reid.

Kelly, since he’s been here has recruited 3 quality quarterbacks. Jaden Daniels, Ricky Colins, and Colin Hurley. Also, look for him to bring in an experienced quarterback next year after Daniels goes to the NFL.

He had a terrible track record with them at Notre Dame

Enlighten me … who were the starters and who wasted away on the bench when they should have been the starter?

Boutte violated team rules. Your post is dumb

I think the team rule is ‘make the grades you need to play’

Or

He was testing BK with something minor. BK said ‘Nope’

It confirms nothing. JD could get injured on the first play.

This isn’t about recruiting and developing a QB. This is about playing the best player. There’s zero indication Kelly will not play the best player.

DBG, But to a large extent, I think it is though. CBK has a particular offensive scheme he wants to run so he goes out and finds the best player he can get to operate this scheme (recruiting). If you have talent, which ND never really had a problem getting, if they underperform, that’s player development. BK never had a championship caliber QB; I don’t think it’s because he couldn’t get one.

All coaches will play who they think is their best player, that’s a given. I think he’s flawed in his scheme concept and player evaluation, selection for given scheme; the lack of any impressive QBs and upper tier offensive production through the years leads me to that opinion. Other areas this year that had me quite surprised with his talent evaluation, player selection problems were: 1) offensive line - didn’t solidify his starting lineup until week 4 really; way too late. 2) late Perkins utilization - not until Florida game 3) Mike Jones as starting LB over Baskerville. 4) pre-season glowing reviews of CB Richardson 5) sticking with Daniels through his QB mediocrity- I would have benched him, at the latest, at Auburn game. Those were all glaring CBK player evaluation, selection shortfalls to me.
