Are you really going to contend all of Kelly's offenses have been terrible and in the same breath try to disqualify last season because of JD5's talent.
JD rose to the heights that he did through their offense, and through the QB coaching that he received through Sloan.
We have the #1 Player in the country committed so he can be coached by Sloan.
It's amazing how stupid some of you are. Simply breathtaking.

Co-OC route
Shades of Mal-peeveto and we know how that worked out for our defense.
He goes and steals Baker away from Mizzou making him the highest paid assistant but elevates two guys to the OC role who aren't ready?

Geez, it's been one game.

quote:USC had 2 high safeties almost all night and LSU didn't have their best deep ball WR playing. If Hilton plays, he runs passed the 2 high safeties. Sampson might be able to do it, but none of the WR who played on Sunday can do it. It takes elite elite speed to do that.
Nothing deep
quote:Well not only do 2 deep safeties effect this, it isn't true. We threw the ball over the middle when it was available.
nothing over the middle

My opinion it was not the OC play calling in the second half. BK said at half time we were going to run the ball, bet he told the OC to run the ball.

Late in the second half Nuss missed an open Trey dez Green on a deep route that could have changed the game and he also hit Anderson with a 30 yd pass and a 14 yarder after that and missed Anderson on a possible TD play in the flats. You call that conservative? LOL

Bottom line is Nuss missed on 3 great calls. The correct plays were called but not executed properly by Nuss although initial the 3rd and goal play he was avoiding the blitz up the middle but when the defender missed him he had a perfect pocket and if he just steps up #4 was breaking free in the back of the endzone.. That is not the coaches fault. And if he keeps a couple of those RPO plays he gets 10-20 yds when we only needed 2-5 yds for a first down. I don't know if he was told not to run or he chose not to run but I do know it was open. They;ll look at the film and hopefully learn from it but all of this lousy play calling BS is just that. Execute the plays that were called and we aren't even having this conversation.

Let's be honest ,everybody on the rant was hollering Joe Sloan,, the Louisiana media Joe Sloan,, we have to keep Underwood they hollered.

I wish someone to break down every play.
I would like to know how many short passes were designed and how many were check downs.

Just showing the comparison of how he went all out on the defensive side (which was warranted) but kind of neglected the offensive side

Yes Nuss missed some throws but in it's a numbers game and the coaches simply didn't challenge USC enough down the field, Nuss is strength is that he has a great arm so why are we throwing all these underneath routes. You have to challenge the secondary with the deep ball which also loosens up the box for a better running game. USC challenged us Bigly with the deep ball.

Kelly is 100% to blame. I’m old enough to remember a time whereby we fans didn’t even know the names of coordinators and assistants. The head coach was always 100% responsible, and I feel the same way now.

He sits there and talks about players having killer instinct, what about the coaches Where's the killer instinct plays in the play calling. It was bland vanilla shite and USC was prepared for it.
I watched his post game comments and he blamed himself too. First game against a good team. They were lucky in that 5 times they fumbled and recovered all of them.
Chill BK will take of business, I trust him.

Nuss needs to incorporate his legs to get some of third and shorts. He is definitely fast enough. DEs are crashing in and he would not pull the ball.

His interpretation of killer instinct is to take the ball first and go for it on 4th and goal with 3.5 yards to score…both are very questionable decisions

BK did it to Denbrock at ND in ‘15 too with Mike Sanford. he was not gonna get played again by BK.

there’s a reason BK fired chip long as OC after going 33-6 with the 13th best offense (PPG) in 2019 and replaced him with a 25 year old tommy rees. control. chip wanted to change some necessary things — like a real WR coach. BK wasn’t about that.
