Really? After this past season you still think he's better than Skenes?

Skenes hasnt pitched in the show yet. That's probably why he is saying that. At lsu ,nola isn't top 2.

Nola's control is better but Gausman has nastier stuff. They're pretty even in the pros IMO and Nola obviously better in college.

Skenes is the best LSU pitcher ever.

Sure he is. Besides Skenes, the only guy you could put in front of NOLA is Ben. Ben was great, but he was not great in Omaha. I have...

1. Skenes
2. Nola
3. Ben

Skenes might be the best college pitcher ever. And I say that after having removed my purple tinted glasses. Dude was just embarrassingly dominant at that level.

Eh, not so sure about that. The margin is razor thin. Nola’s numbers here were stupid

Let’s see
Nola had the best command but benefited from dead bats and raised seamed balls

Skenes and Ben probably threw a lot closer to the same velo than what people think. Trackman picks it at the hand. The workload Ben had was MUCH greater over his last 2 years than the other 2 because Skip wore his arse out.

Ben was a much more polished pitcher than Skenes in college in terms of multiple pitches.

Pitchers are pussies today.

I think Nola probably benefitted some from CPM's emphasis on fielding as well relative to Ben and Skenes. But who's to say how he would have done in another bat-era.

That he's been pretty consistently good, not necessarily great, in MLB supports how good he was here.

Also, if we're talking single season greatness like Skenes, then Lloyd Peever's '92 season ought to be included in the discussion.
