I was wondering if anyone here watched The Paul Finebaum Show. He said, "he had talked to CLM and that he is feeling that this years team is going to be like the 2011 team. They are going to have a nasty defense. He is going to rely allot on the defense. " If the defense is nasty like 2011 and the offense can run on all 8 cylinders we can win most of our games. What do you think?

The D was so good in 2011 we ran on 4 cylinders and were almost unstoppable.

I think this defense won't be as good as the 2011 defense, but they will still be very strong. On the flip side, I think this offense has the chance to be much more explosive than the 2011 team so yes, I think this team has potential to be special.

Bingo!! You can have all the great DBs you want, if the DL is bad it won't make a difference.

The only way this defense is as good as the 2011 bunch is if the DL class from 2013 does ANYTHING to live up to their recruiting hype.
Plus, I put no stock in what Les says in the offseason.

Why, with all the supposed talent we have on offense would we want to rely mostly on the defense?

Adams, Mills, Jefferson at safety is going to be awesome. I'm looking forward to seeing Paris and Tolliver. White is the man. Veteran lbs and a ton of d lineman that have something to prove. I won't call it 2011, but I think it will be nasty. ]

Agreed. We lack the depth that we had in '11, although Godchaux and LaCouture could be as good as Logan and Brockers. I just don't know if we have the DE's. LB is probably better by default with a seasoned Beckwith vs. breaking in Minter.

eta. We have a really good secondary, but there's no way a secondary could perform better than 11... remember in passes of 15 yards or more, we had more interceptions than completions allowed

Lacouture as good as Logan or Brockers? We are definitely in the offseason hype stage

That 2011 defense was special, and it was because of Tyrann Mathieu. We don't have a Tyrann Mathieu anymore, no one does really. Dude wrecked everyone's offensive game plans.

The combination of the two... it's not a stretch to say LaCouture could be as good as Logan or close and Godchaux could be equal if not better than both Brockers and Logan.

I'll take an undefeated season with a loss in the NC in a heartbeat over an 8-5 year.

If cam can establish the offense with it's own identity and Harris can stretch the field with that cannon of his.LF7 will win the Heisman and we will be in the frickin' promised land!

The D can be very good if our O can somehow do the unthinkable and string a few 1st downs together occasionally to keep them rested.
