Wrong... The season hinges on games two and three..... Lose just one of them and LSU has to win out to make the playoff...

Maybe top 5...... and will be even better depending on qb play............

Not any more. In the past we were the only ones to really contend with them. They have to play Ole Miss, ULM, then UGA, Arkansas, TAMU, and then Tennessee before their bye. It would be possible to lose that game and still make it to the SECCG as long as we take care of Miss St. and Auburn earlier.

LSU needs to focus on one game at a time and avoid struggling against teams they should beat.

I honestly don't remember an LSU team with this much talent on both sides of the ball. I wouldn't be surprised to see them run the table. I think this year is the beginning of several years of LSU dominance of the SEC. I didn't expect a title this year but it wouldn't surprise me.

Let's be honest, Miss State isn't expected to be very good this year.

Auburn hasn't beaten us in Baton Rouge since 1999.

We play Florida at home. South Carolina may be a problem in Columbia, but eh.

Alabama in Tuscaloosa and we haven't beaten them since November of 2011.

Question marks at DT, DE and QB. Hard to believe all of those will come through this year.

And it's going to very hard, perhaps ever, to compare to the 2011 defense. We had extreme talent and a once-in-a-generation playmaker who literally changed multiple games by himself. We probably won't see one like the Honey Badger again in our lifetime.

I see 9-3.

Not without a competent QB. Will not happen. Defense is great. If LSU rolls out completely inept QB play, then count on at least 3 losses and more likely 4 even if the defense is lights out. Gotta score some points.

I hate to say it, but that would be pretty disappointing.

Bingo. Another loss will be devastating. LSU will not beat 'Bama without a QB who can play.

So...undefeated season just to shite the bed in the championship game?

SEC championship game and a play-off appearance would be exactly what this program needs

We had it done in 2012 and 2014 with nothing spectacular at QB. We choked.

Yeah, Just like nobody saw them climb to #1 last year.... It will be a very tough game that early in the season..........

I don't think Baa is a good ths year as in the past 5-6 years... I can see them with three loses including one to LSU........

Lee gave us good QB play in 2011. Don't see QB playing at that level this year.

Are there any game changing DEs on this roster? I say no, but Key could be once he gets here?

Ok. Name the team that had someone like LF7 and supporting cast.

That 2011 defense was special, and it was because of Tyrann Mathieu.

So you don't remember Ron Brooks filling in for TM7 and our defense not missing a beat? I'm not saying TM7 wasnt a beast, I'm just saying that 2011 defense did not rely on one person. Our dline depth was the most talented we've eve had at lsu. Maybe not the most talented 1st team but our entire dline depth was the best it's ever been in 2011.

Rasco,Ferguson and Anthony Johnson weren't starters.

The combination of the two... it's not a stretch to say LaCouture could be as good as Logan or close and Godchaux could be equal if not better than both Brockers and Logan.

Yes it would be. Brockers and Logan were as good of a duo at DT. Those two were dominant.
