Imagine being a player and finding out your coach was shaving points. Holy shite.

Suspicious bets on the LSU Alabama baseball game were also placed in the state of Indiana. Who banned all bets on Alabama baseball and ordered money refunded.

Hardly any money was bet on the game nationally, except for the 1 or 2 or a handful of bets in Ohio, random states, etc. It was just odd activity. Even if a moderate bet (or bets), it looked suspicious...given the odds, location, etc. I'm sure books have staff specifically looking at trends or lack thereof. And, I'm sure they looked at it even more after hearing of Bama scratching their pitcher late...even though they didn't even change the odds, but moreso after not seeing any more action. It's pretty much a "wait, who are these people and what do they know". In this day and age of analytics, good luck cheating the system...at least for too long.

Meh I would think a Friday night SEC Network televised game in a packed Alex Box involving #1 LSU (with Skenes pitching) and another SEC school would be more bet on than other games…

Of course idk what other games are available to bet on. Can’t imagine every D1 game is available, probably not even every SEC game. Some of these games draw less people than HS games in LA so I can imagine the inside info that could be shared

The only downside to this news is that I could see Bama go after our assistant coaches for the head coach position.

I may have missed it but did they ever say on the broadcast the official reason the pitcher was scratched so close to game time?

what game did he throw because you have to be the superior team to throw a game...changing pitches at the last minute just made Bama bigger underdogs to LSU than they were before...

Reference to "The Longest Yard".

Pretty sure all you have to do to qualify as "throwing a game" is to lose on purpose. Don't think you have to be the superior team to throw a game.

2 big books already confirmed this as fact. I believe it was Draft Kings and Fan Duel. They had hardly any, if any, money come in on the game. Maybe due to availability, but still a red flag.

Yea which means obviously using a government issued phone to commit a crime is illegal and those records aren’t protected by the privacy act. Feds probably got his phone records within seconds of requesting them “If” that’s the phone he used. Something tells me he was dumb enough to do that & it’s not his first time. He probably bet on every game they’ve had this year. Guess what? He was Auburn’s Asst Coach before Bama too. Guaranteed they will go back and investigate every school he ever worked. He will be investigated for a long time like they did Pete Rose, then maje an example out of him.

I want to know what he put down on LSU -245
Bet $245 win $100
So 10k would have got about 4K return if I’m correct

I would hope he went a lot bigger than $10k for the risk he took.

If you walk into a sports book in Cincinnati and put down 10k on a random mid season college baseball game I imagine it would draw some scrutiny. Hell it would probably raise eyebrows in Vegas.
