Used to be my next door neighbor back when I used to live in Springlake off of Bluebonnet. He was a dick that would yell at either his wife or dog. I couldn’t tell but he was a maniac.

Obviously he's a good assistant but wasn't Messer a top recruiter? Bob has admitted that wasn't his forte.

Idk how great he is or isn’t as a recruiter. But if Kim can’t convince top players to come to play for her that falls more on her. Messer was a great recruiter so Kim must feel fine they can recruit at a high level with what they have. Players normally come to the school due to the HC anyways

Oddly she mentioned wanting to hire someone young two weeks ago. I'm sure they have a plan.

I hope she let him run the defense cause guarding the 3 has always been Kim weakness

He is a good defensive coach and good with X's and O's. Will probably improve the defense a lot.

Granted this year was hard to judge, most those players played in a zone for years. They didn't seem comfortable as a team playing man to man, and thats what Kim runs. Even with a lot of new faces next season adding Bob will make the defense much better pretty quickly.

Can't be the same guy. Bob is one of the best people I've ever known. Had a chance to become friends with him when he first started on Dale Brown's staff. He adores his wife (and dog too)

Bob Starkey is a very good basketball coach. I am glad Kim hired him. Welcome home, Bob.

Love this addition.

Starkey was the tactician and brains behind the Final Four teams with Sue and Pokey. Pokey was more the recruiter.

Bill Brock was some of that for Mulkey at Baylor; so I think she gets that back and more with Starkey.

Recruiting will be fine. Mulkey is a great recruiter, plus her name and record alone are a draw. Plus she has 2 other young assistants and a host of young support staff that can recruit. Starkey won’t provide much in recruiting at all; but that’s okay.
