The problem with the punt is the 4 other guys that ran right past the returner, leaving 5 guys and the punter to tackle him.
The bib wasn't strong enough to warrant the flag all on its own.
And anyone who is critical of the punter's angle of pursuit is being silly.

I was in the stadium so I could have been wrong. Thought I saw him impeding Dural

Could have been called. But if im being objective, it was probably a good no call. He barely touched him on his back. Cant use that as an excuse for the bad punt coverage.

Being objective, it is an unobstructed block in the back

If you're being objective, you realize he was in fact blocked in the back, and that it should have been flagged.
PS - our special teams do suck but this thread is about specific no calls.

you look at that gif id say it was probably a penalty. However, the return man deeks the frick out of Debo. Notice how he over pursues to right. Debo sets his course full speed at that target. Then a the last moment the return man side steps left to field the ball. Very heady play.

Man, almost like he was pushed in the back making him fly right by him

Again...it's nearly impossible at almost every level of football to not have at least one illegal hands blocking penalty on a return during a game. They are called SOOOOOOOO frequently that each and every fan in the stands does one thing once they are sure the returner is going to score...and that's look back over the field for the flag that was almost certainly thrown.
Given this, it's practically shocking this one was not called. Not only was it blatant, but because Keehn had outkicked the majority of his coverage so badly Debo and his blocker were the only ones there. It was impossible not to have seen that.
In stadium my first reaction was, "No worries...that's coming back."
Now...is the special teams had a coach, they ought to be told to take a dive if/when they are pushed in the back like that. Instead, he tried to keep his feet and then dive sideways to try and make the play which he had been shoved past. He'd have been better served to have allowed the show to put him on his face to make it even MORE obvious.

That was an obvious block in the back. With that side angle, anyone arguing otherwise is being obtuse.

We've seen far less contact called on that play. In the stadium the illegal block was obvious to the point that a nearby Gator fan commented that he couldn't believe the call wasn't made. Still, the rest of the coverage on that play sucked. Quite a shame since the KO coverage was the best it's been all year, IMO.

You can see Deion's speed jerk faster when he first touches him. Esp on the second gif. He has a steady speed and then he jumps ahead really fast. watch it.
This. Happens almost exactly as he crosses the 35.

I would've called it. I admit my bias. But it's clear the push, although light, makes Jones overrun the play. About three yards before the catch, his steps end up much longer after being pushed. The illegal contact clearly interfered with the play. (Not really the rule on how to call it, but it makes a difference to me.)
Very true.

was not a late hit on Harris out of bounds, he ended up slipping off sideline
Jones got called for something similar, there is no consistency across the board with sec refs. It's just pathetic. Harris gets pushed way out of bounds, I don't care that he slipped, call it.

I don't get it, not one questionable call is replayed on the screens. Drives me crazy.

True and true, they got that key fumble recovery correct because he was in bounds with the ball but didn't control it when he went out and the no-call on the wildcat was a miss in our favor. Sum total, the refs have stunk all year but may not be biased against us.

stfu. you can't see anything conclusive from that gif

The shove in the back was enough to change Debo's direction and keep him off the punt returner. It was obvious and several of us thought it would get called back, worst no call of the night. The no call on the pass interference was obvious also, but the fact that last year and this year, defenses are allowed to grab Fournette by the face mask beats all i have ever seen. Florida was frustrated that he was so hard to get off his feet and the refs should have set the tone by throwing the flag early. Total bullshite.

they show stupid one yard qb sneak but don't replay the punt, the punt return with the block in the back, the pass int or any face mask that was missed
Posted on 10/19/15 at 1:49 pm to dgnx6
Thats my point, just because he ended up slipping down- doesnt mean he wasnt pushed, after he was already out of bounds. They have called that very same penalty against LSU, when the offensive guy was already slipping down, and our guy just couldnt pull up on his momentum.

At least they threw the late flag on the UF intentional grounding... It was about to get ugly in there if they didn't.
