White booted a 2 out ground ball before Jobert misplayed his.

White's was a hard hit ball, not routine by any shot.

He never took his eye off the ball, he simply misjudged it. But even if he had looked over, he only had to worry about the wall because he misplayed the ball. In no world was that ball anywhere near the wall down the first baseline, even with where it looked like he thought it was going.

There is simply no reason to white knight for Jobert, this is a team game. He did screw up, it happens. Both he and White are not in the lineup for their defense. Jobert had a good night at the plate but made a mistake in the field and running the bases.

I agree, he hasn’t been a good fit so far. Trouble with fielding and accuracy.

I’m fine with white at 3rd, he’s not perfect but he makes enough plays. You need to be clean up the middle (C, SS, CF) and make the routine plays in the OF. Last night seemed like an aberration.

Jobert’s error cost them 3 runs, 10 runs should win you 99% of the baseball games you play in we gave up 13 not just because of Jobert’s mistake it was a total team shite the bed on defense type night. Not white knighting for anyone but to say one player cost you the game is idiotic when as a team they gave up 13 runs.

You must legitimately be retarded.

True. But he also had an abysmal base running error.

Yep, and Manny Ramirez wasn’t a good fit in Boston

Momentum and staying on schedule are a big deal in sports. You get out of that inning and Herring isn’t extended as long, not to mention the mental effect that has on him. Jobert lost the game on that play. It could have been won back, granted, but he lost it.

Give up 14 hits and 3 errors you won’t win. It’s okay get the series today.

Very true

I believe I state baseball is a team game immediately after what you quoted as the reason no one needs to knight for Jobert. Jobert's error was critical and by far the most costly of the fielding errors plus he made a really bad base running error though it may not have cost us anything, hard to say.

Every player has a bad night from time to time and because this is a team sport you hope the team can pick you up when you fall. They almost did last night but the totality of the mistakes dug the hole too deep.

Pitchers walked in runs, made shite throws to first base, walked a ton of batters, couldn’t throw strikes. 3rd baseman cant throw across the diamond to first base accurately along with making errors himself. Base running errors by a couple guys..multiple ground outs into double plays the list goes on from just jobert’s errors. Morgan don’t belong leading off or in the first three batters either

I understand but White was not a take for LSU out of the portal for his defensive prowess. He looks like a lot of third basemen you see who are primarily in the lineup for their bats. He is good enough at third base to start.

Crews average has dropped 50 points, you want to bench him too?

It is possible for Jobert to make 2 huge mistakes while other players also make mistakes, just one of his was gigantic and inexcusable at this level of baseball. Both of them probably were

One meatball from Floyd preceded that. Served up a run with 2 outs, two strikes - right down the middle

Team needs to get better at not allowing 1 mistake to turn into several mistakes. Jobert screwed up but he was not the reason we lost.

Agreed, Tanks makes that play and the inning is over. Jobert play never happens

It wasn’t just an easy grounder though. 3rd base makes errors on hard hit grounders they try to body up. Outfielders don’t just misplay east flyballs.

Tanks was even with the bag. Two outs, runner on second. Why?
Was the batter a known bunter? I thought Tanks was out of position. Thoughts?

But yes, the play in RF was worse. He nearly missed one like that Thursday. He has a problem running to his left.
