Dave Aranda is 33-31 as a HC but at least he makes a lot of money

Aranda also had zero personality and was not the best recruiter.

Baker is extremely outgoing, recruits well, and seems like he'd be pretty good at rallying a fan base.

I have no idea what he wants but I do know in the modern football world, being a coordinator at an elite program is probably a better gig than being the HC at a p4 school outside of the top 20 powerhouses

If he’s gets a HC job, wouldn’t be surprised if a couple of guys jump in the portal and follow him

you do know Blake Baker failed his last time as a head coach. I’d put him in the category with Dave Miranda or Dennis Alan when it comes to a head coach not that great great defensive coordinator not a good head coach.

He could leave, get some HC experience with the end goal of coming back to take over here.

If he does leave, I hope this is what happens. Hope he stays though!

Obviously yall haven’t followed LSU politics concerning coaching hires the last 30 years.Ever since the MikeArcher hire they haven’t allowed a coordinator to be named HC.Don’t bring up O he had been a HC before. Skip wanted to hire Jimbo and the powers that be wouldn’t allow it.

Everyone knows he is head coach material. Defensive genius who players seem to absolutely love playing for. He could have something worked out with Woodward to be "next in line" in the event Kelly hangs it up before the 10 years (because he got sick of winning championships).
MIKE ARCHER was a "Defensive Genius" whom the players absolutely loved playing for.

After Arnsparger spurned LSU to go be the Athletic Director at Florida, all the LSU "Players" wanted Archer to be the HC, so Joe Dean hired him and passed on STEVE SPURRIER. (And the rest is history!)

BB needs to seriously get some HC Experience before he steps in to the HC Frying Pan at LSU!

Wasn’t Jimbo Fisher declared a head coach in waiting at Florida State. He got his chance, but only after Bobby Bowden departed kicking and screaming several years later.

And Kelly is younger than Bowden was then.

The grass isn't always greener, especially for these defensive minded guys. Hope he sticks around for a few more years, but the coaching carousel cycle when you have an elite D is nothing new.

BKs replacement

BK and BB win the National Championship and BK rides off into the sunset with a nice golden parachute.

BB becomes the next head coach. I can dream it; make it so.

He wants to be in BR and he wants to be the HC at LSU one day. Everything else is up LSU. He will have great offers coming up and it will be up to LSU to keep him. Only time will tell.

Good chance he’s coaching at Tulane next year when Sumrall leaves.

Unless Tulane joins the ACC no shot
