Such a mature comment. LOL. BK has a lot to prove this season. Just facts.

Doesn’t Clemson have like 4 projected first round picks?

I would say LSU has at least two in Weeks and Nuss, maybe 3 if Perk shows he's healthy....anyway I'd say if you compared the other 18 Clemson Starters and ours I think we might come out ahead in that comparison come late August.

The Clemson game really screws BK. Clemson’s team is gonna be incredible this year and we are breaking in a bunch of transfers on the road against them Week 1. There’s no benefit to playing that game when the committee only looks at how many losses you have. Hopefully that changes this year and they let in some 9-3 SEC teams.

I don't look at it that way, I like playing this type of game and I hope and think the team does as well. I realize I'm in the minority here but that does not change my mind. It's just time to win one.

I keep seeing this and I realize they are ranked highly based off last year - then I look at their schedule last year.....and it's not that impressive....at all. They lost 4 games and the only reason they made the playoffs is they were in a terrible ACC......I mean what was their best win last year....34-31 over SMU?

Now are they better than the USC team we lost to last year. yes...but we are better than the LSU team that lost that game last year as well, and IMHO significantly so on defense.

LFG.

I'm not so sure if LSU loses this game in a close one and ends up 9-3 does not make the playoff, but hopefully it won't come to that and we win the game.

Agreed that hopefully it doesn't come to that and it feels weird saying that week 1 is a must win but I think week one is a must win.

I'd rather have the security of only being a two loss team obviously, but say it is a three loss team, I'd rather all three come from top SEC teams. If Clemson goes 10-3 like last year then they are going to get in based on H2H. Odds of that being the scenario is pretty low but not crazy.

We'd just be at a really big disadvantage going into SEC play already having one L on the record and as a fan knowing they already can't beat a top team it'd be hard to be optimistic.

I don't think it is, we can still win the SEC even if we lose to Clemson and I honestly think a week 1 loss to Clemson still even leaves you a shot to get in with 3 losses depending on who the loses are to.

I guess I just have a hard time seeing us losing to Clemson, then thinking we are going to be a team that can also go 5-2 vs Florida, Ole Miss, USCe, AtM, Bama, Arkansas, and OU. It'll just be a repeat of last year. Lose an opener and win a few games to make you think you're decent then drop too many when the schedule gets tough or lose to a team that you shouldn't lose too.

That could definitely happen, LSU has a lot of pieces that need to gel, especially at positions where that's most important (defensive back, offensive line).

This team should theoretically take a huge leap once it gets some games under its belt.

A lot of the long term outlook for 2025 LSU just depends on where that baseline is. If it's winning by 10 at Clemson, frick it, we ridin' baws.

Our main hope (I think) is that the Clemson team is a bit overrated because they beat up on weak ACC teams and when we matchup with them, our SEC size and speed overwhelms them.

If they are as good as they are being hyped as being, us having so many new pieces doesn't work to our advantage at all.

Why do we start with these F'n games! It was fun when Les won them all but, bk hasn't won an opening game yet and I'm not sure he ever will. This doesn't mean he's not a good coach but it does not do anything but start the season 0-1 Why do we keep doing this?

No, they didn’t. They were literally the same type of team BK took to the playoffs and were blasted by Alabama.

I just don't think we can discount that we are "significantly" better talent-wise on defense. That to me is the difference between this year and Kelly's first 3.
Honestly, we've been running out defenses with talent well below the level we should ever accept at LSU - whatever the reasons BK is the coach and that's on him in the end.

I think the proper upgrades on staff and personnel have been made on defense and if the offensive line can survive that first game and improve as the year goes on this could be a pretty special year.
