How was it funny? Again, it reminds of Al Sharpton’s “we wuz doing math before those Greek homos” statement. Typically, there should be some sort of accuracy behind a statement like this to make it funny.

Good Lord. I just saw the responses, a little confused over “I’m shocked”, from some guy I don’t know. Of course, in Mo’s responses he sounds like an elitist a-hole which is kind of the point.

I'm too busy enjoying having a good time riling you up, bc you have the personality of a 2x4.
I don't care that the puritans were doing their thing in 1740 and New Orleans had opera in 1790. Its good enough to make most people chuckle at a party.

The OP referenced going to “academic meetings” in Boston. That sounds to me like an event that hosts snobby blue bloods from all over the country and the world. It doesn’t strike me as a gathering of native Bostonians, New Englanders or Mayflower descendants. The vast majority of New England is pretty blue collar AF. And yes, I am a dullard. I’ve spent my adult life carrying a gun for the country, city or government. I come here to not have to talk to people who think they’re smart but say stupid shite. I’ve now posted 3 more things than I normally do. Once again, thank you Bake for the funny response when I encounter another a-hole that I might be able to use it on.
