I don’t think they will make it this year. Won’t be far away but to replace on offense and defense will need another year.

When Kelly took this job he was told he will have all the resources to win championships, but what he didn’t know was NIL and the transfer portal were going to go crazy and take over college football.
Not saying we can’t compete, but don’t fool yourself and think we can outbid the big boys on a consistent basis. We need a salary cap and we need one soon.

A HC can’t just wait for things to play out when he loses a position coach in the middle of the year.
He shifted Jancek to DL when Lindsey got sick. Jancek played DL in college and had been a DL coach before. It clearly didn’t work out, but the likelihood of getting someone outside the program on a 1-year deal, in the middle of fall camp, who could bring success to our 2023 DL and recruit is very low.
There are no good options when you lose a staff member in fall camp. Y’all act like he just gave up and said “frick it, no DL coach this year” when that’s simply not true. He moved a guy on the staff who had played and coached the position before, then brought Jenkins in when that obviously wasn’t working.
And then when the season was over, he made the biggest DL hire we could have asked for.
The DT situation sucks but being up in arms because we didn’t hire Bo Davis in August is just silly.

Brian Kelly isn’t getting fired anytime soon. With that being said, not making the playoff would be a major disappointment imo.

First game vs USC is huge. Not win and LSU chances at the playoffs will be abysmal.

Yeah, if we don't make the playoffs and contend for a national championship, let's fire that son of a b****! We can get Les and O back as coordinators and Will Wade as HC.
