BK could potentially have us competing for the West in 22. Definitely 23

Think about it this way. Even with the injuries, opt outs, and terrible head coaching we went 6-6. We easily could have won the following games with competent coaching and injuries not happening:
UCLA: If not for the hurricane and Myles injury we likely win this with better coaching.
Auburn: Easily should have won
Kentucky: Was a beatdown, but who knows? Let's keep this as a loss.
Ole Miss: Again, could have easily won without injuries and with competent coaching.
Bama: We were missing half our starters. If we fielded a full team we would have won this game.
Arkansas: Even with a depleted team we win this game with competent coaching.
That means we could have gone 11-1 or 10-2 EASILY in 2020 without the injuries, opt outs and bad coaching. That tells me we could have a double digit win season next year with this new staff, recruiting class and hitting the transfer portal.

With the depleted roster and culture change attrition, I think 8 or more wins next year is solid. Any more and he has exceeded and less is a bit of a disappointment. 2023 we comin

Not understanding the downvotes. With Kelly as HC and Brennan at QB we are likely 9-3 to 10-2 this past year

I think alot rides on Walker Howard and how quickly he develops. We have amazing raw talent, it just needs to be formed into a team

You don’t understand the transfer portal

I think it's going to take a year or two. I say 9-3 next year. We need to rebuild the OL, LBs and will likely have an inexperienced QB.

That’s where the downvote happened. All this woulda coulda shoulda stuff is pointless. No one should give one damn about any of this anymore.
...and all the “Myles-siah” talk is cringe.

Considering the final outcomes of the games, I assume that you are saying that we would have been beaten by:
UCLA, Kentucky, and Ole Miss?
Total combined margin of losses to Auburn, Alabama, and Arkansas was 11 points!

I would be very surprised if this happens. The roster has issues, and a lot will change for next year.

In 2023, alabama will have the greatest recruiting class ever assembled coming of age, and we will still be scraping to fill holes created by the Ed O administration.
I have a lot of faith in Brian Kelly, but we've got a long way to go to get back to title contention (which is equivalent to SECW contention)

2024 can compete for the west.
Next year will be lucky just to make a bowl. This is a complete gutting BK has to do.

I watched a video and someone said "LSU is just like changing the tires". I seriously disagree. I can't imagine if O would have stayed another year or two how bad it would have gotten... that guy completely checked out after winning the title. LSU needs a few years to re-organize and re-build.

Coaches aren't just plug and play -- this isn't Madden, so no, "with Kelly" this year we probably don't fare any better because the roster, locker room, and coordinator issues still exist.
Now, once his staff is filled out, give Kelly a few recruiting cycles to get his players onboard, then we'll start seeing dividends.
But people need to be patient, this is a process, and as others have said, we're just shining sunlight on areas of the program that have needed it for years. It's going to take work.

Your expectation is accurate. This is LSU and within the second year we should be competing for a championship. Seeing what I’ve seen over this last week I expect it will take longer if it does happen.

If it happens great. Of course it's possible but don't rah rah unlikely outcomes when the roster is depleted, we don't know what BK will bring in from the portal, new coach/culture/schemes/etc. it's a lot. Plus, the ogre meatheads stench needs to exorcised from the program from top to bottom. Expecting to be in it next year is just setting the table for disappointment if it doesn't happen. Pure fanboi BS.

The first goal is always to win the SEC West. It starts there.
2022 real world though, assuming Bama will be Bama, I would hope we could climb back up to 2nd in the West. While certainly a realistic goal, I would not expect it in season one. 5-3 in the SEC and 9-3 overall would be a significant achievement.
