Once LSU opened up a 10+ point lead it never got close again.

Under Will Wade LSU's had major problems holding big leads and letting teams back into games. That's a focus and effort problem.

I think for most of this season, once we opened up that double digit lead our guys started looking to pad their stats.

The last two week that has been none of that. Not to mention the increased effort they have given on defense lately, and on the glass today.

They did well protecting the lead playing at a slower pace. Lots of growth and maturity on display here. A half court grind it out game could be in store for them Monday, i think they can play that game too.
I liked it too.

But Michigan plays a fast game too. Both teams are top 10 in offense efficiency.

Abandoning the 1-3-1 zone is the key to this team. Even when we have cold stretches like early today we can stay connected and not fall into the early holes that killed us at the beginning of the year. We can win low 70s games now when we couldn’t before. Great adjustment by Wade and great job by Hyatt to step up and embrace the role he has.

Straight up perseverance today. Cam was cold the entire first half, they still fed him the rock, but others stepped up and played well. I hope they keep this intensity and focus up.

Higher Efficiency doesn’t equal pace. Michigan is 256th in tempo

2 big points on Coaching:
1) Anybody notice warm-ups for the 2nd half? All five starters simulating defensive positioning on the court (then reserves substituting) and coaches moving the ball around the perimeter with occasional skip passes so the defense practiced it's rotations/close-outs/passing lanes. Everybody was moving/warming up and NOBODY was shooting. Defensive FOCUS, boys!
2) I was concerned about full court pressure. We did not handle it well---blew the TxTech game because of it---and generally didn't handle it well. St. Bonnie's tried it once and with the floor spaced perfectly and with perfect timing, Cam sprinted long on the oppo side of the court from the ball and came wide open. An easy pass before the defense can even close for the first trap/pressure. Peary well coached.

Him having that body and running every single day is why I gave up running

He jogs a mile a day lol. If you actually want to burn calories and tone up you need to run some sprints or do some kind of HIIT like that. Jogging a mile a day doesn’t really do anything to actually help with your physique.
