re: Biggest sigh of relief: Chase TD vs Bama, or 1st Chase TD vs Clemson

The 3 drives prior to the TD we had a total of 17 yards of offense. I was definitely feeling squirmy.
We also had horrible field position and had a big gain wiped out by an illegal man downfield penalty.
Not the greatest start, but wasn't yet worried.
My biggest sigh of relief was the Burrow to CEH TD right before the half against Bama. I really liked being up by 20 and loved that when we got the turnover we brought the dagger.

No wrong answer here. We all react to games differently. But I felt a huge sense of relief when we scored early vs. Alabama.

Definitely Clemson. They were #1 ranked defense and were having their way against our #1 offense. After that TD it was advantage LSU rest of the night. Bama game was similar to all the other games leading up to that game. We marched length of field on that 1st drive. TD in that game was more like icing on the cake than relief IMHO. What a season!

Tua dropping the ball
It was funny listening to the announcer falling all over themselves about his ankle.

It was still extremely early in the Bama game, so I’d have to go with the TD that cut Clemson’s lead to 17-14.

I think Bama.
That was a barrier we NEEDED to break and it was a closer game.
But I understand An arguement for the Clemson TD.
When he scored I had Immediately said “ok we can score we can do this”

My biggest sigh of relief was probably the drive right after Clemson went up 17-7. LSU’s previous drive went 3 and out and that felt like a game determining drive.
First play: Joe to Chase for 15 yards
Next play: Joe to Chase for 55 yards
Two plays later Joe runs it in.
That’s when I felt like Joe was in his zone and Chase couldn’t be stopped.

The Bama TD, their D has butt raped us so many times it was nice to slice them up.
I knew we had Clemson when they chose to open the game with a trick play. Nothing says you are outgunned like being the defending national champ on a 29 game win streak but still going for a trick earlier.
Dabo knew what was coming

I heard an announcer say "LSU's opponents never had the ball in the fourth quarter with a chance to go ahead." Does anyone know if this is true? I know Alabama didn't, Clemson didn't, OK didn't :). If true that is amazing. (Just a simple question, don't mean to change subject).

My favorite TD of the year for the same reasons. Interception, cheap shot, penalty, cram it up their arse and take it into the locker room. The camera panning to the older, dejected Bama fan who looked like Pete Rose was so satisfying.
To the original OP, my vote was the first score vs. Bama for all the reasons already mentioned but also for capitalizing on Tua's mistake, going down the field, making them pay, and setting the tone. I think that put a lot pressure back on Tua that he hadn't had in a while.

It was actually the Chase catch down the far sideline vs Bama prior to the TD catch. When Burrow fit it in that window and Chase just took it out of bounds with what looked like minimal effort, I knew Bama was in for a long day.
The 2 plays immediately following that was a first down pass to jefferson over the middle and then the Chase TD.

60% of the time it works every time.

That TD vs. Alabama lifted years of frustration off my back. We finally frigging scored against this ogre of a team. We finally broke the curse. I would think that 99.9% of Tiger fans felt the same way when we scored.

dabo was on the sideline jumping up and down when they were up.. that face slowly turned sour going into halftime.. last season was so special.. i knew we were going undefeated from the beginning and i feel the same way this year.. everyone sleeping on us.. go get y’all pics of the National championship plaque in front of the stadium.. just amazing.. that joe money statue is coming next and retire the 9

Bama. Beating them was key to a special season that we may never see again. Not to mention seeing our players beating their asses like no other team has been able to do. The score was close, but we beat their butts on both sides of the ball. They got us on special teams.
