I can’t see a coach being named while we are still playing. That would be bad form imo.

Correct. Do we have the same source? Or, McDonnell. I have heard that they talked to McDonnell. Announcing Casey or McDonnell before the team loses out is no disrespect to the current regime. I could see a little bit of riff announcing Sully too soon, but he's really no secret at this point.

We're not talking about a formal press conference or anything like that. More like just multiple sources reporting that XYZ has reached an agreement to become Paul's successor at LSU. Yes, if it is a coach still playing, that's bad form for both programs. But, confirming that Casey or McDonnell have reached an agreement takes some edge off of the team and recruits. We're already playing with house money.

You can’t wait unless it’s on a coach still playing. For example, let’s say A&M was also trying to hire our top guy. We would have let them sign him first out of respect for CPM?

No idea on the sources. And I honestly haven’t heard anything about McDonnell. I don’t agree with making any kind of announcement though even if it’s not a press conference. PM deserves better than that and the team doesn’t need the distractions now. Kendall Rogers should not have tweeted that out today
