Will Dish and Direct have the opportunity to add the network also?

10 sec baseball weekends minus the tourney. Everyone plays the same days at same times usually.
3 games every weekend plus some games before sec play starts and televised the whole tourney
And everyone plays at night on Friday, so they could only televise one game on a Friday. Right now, there could be 3-4 games on TV on a Friday night.

IMO this is going to be a disappointment
ESPNs involvement is not good

Name a single broadcast provider that would be better?

IMO the sec is big enough to put this together in their own
Build a studio/buy sat time and basically build it yourself
ESPN is a channel, not a broadcast provider
I view a broadcast provider as cox direct time Warner etc
You already have a relationship with CBS sports channel, use them over ESPNs sensationalist style
Again jmo

I think I agree with this. It could have been like the Jefferson Pilot Sports games from back in the day.
ESPN is all about the money grab. They will restrict access only to providers who will pay what they demand. Good business but not necessarily good for SEC fans.

Plus ESPNs production style is crappy
The worst of all the "sports channels" imo

And after reading the FAQ
If you live in Louisiana, the coverage of lsu you receive will probably decrease
Eta: if you live outside though you will obviously gain coverage
But at locals expense, be ready

This...especially if COX is taken out of the mix. With all the money they have invested in LSU, I can't imagine them being shut-out of LSU coverage. But ATT is a direct competitor.

If I understood it correctly all those side deals are gone or will be
And not to harp on this but ZERO mention of this on any of the 4 espn networks so far

Cox will have an opportunity to add the channel to their lineup just like all other cable providers (Comcast, Direct TV, etc). However, I think the days of Cox Sports televising LSU games will be coming to an end.

I don't even watch baseball and that sounds like jack squat.
Well, considering there's about 40 SEC games every weekend during the regular season
7 X 3 = 40?!?!?
Posted on 5/2/13 at 1:39 pm to Tiger022
LSU will be retroactively awarded 27 national championships from the 1830-1890 era.

Probably so...
(I wonder if programs like "Tiger Tracks", Coaches shows, etc. will be available for them?)

The Link is blocked for me because I'm at work.
Some other sports sites are saying that the SECN will be based in Charlotte and not in Atlanta...is this true? Interesting that there are no current SEC teams in NC if true?

Agreed. I wonder if this will prevent stations like CST from televising games. Cause if so, we may get less than we do now.
I haven't read any info yet, but how much different would it be than the current setup? Could CST get rights to games not broadcast on the network?
