Win or lose to Clemson and we still have the same schedule. A loss for either team in no way counts them out of the playoffs. LSU 34-17

[2] There is Texas, Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, Auburn who have all won 1 or more national championships since the beginning of the BCS era. Florida, Georgia and Alabama have won multiple. Auburn and Texas have played for 1 more in championship game. ALL OF THEM WILL BE CONTENDERS
[3] Lane has made Ole Miss a challenger. Drinkwitz has made Mussori a player.
[4] TAMU once they get their act together, considering the roster they can buy, will have an advantage over us.
[5] Can you pay $36 million in buyout 10 million over the next 10 years for a new coach and still buy a roster worth anything
[6] We do not have the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ to buy a natty winning roster. If we could Texas, TAMU, Florida and Georgia could always match us $ for $.
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ is the God of college football right now. And he is not on our side. Competent coaching can get us to 9-3. Hire a Hallman or an EdO and guarantee a 4-8.

Don't know about all this but I do believe it sets the tone for your season with how hard our schedule is. They could be cruising high if they win the game with a tough arguably underrated game 3 against Florida. Lose and they might start second guessing everything and that could be bad heading into a dangerous game 3 where LSU is still trying to gain their footing/chemistry with a new team.

Clemson is a top team. This game will show if we are also a top team. A close hard fought loss at Clemson wouldn’t be the end of the world. They’re likely the best team on our schedule and they just happen to be our first game. Alabama and oklahoma(depending on how their qb’s play) are the only 2 on our schedule i worry as much about as much.

No guarantee but it definitely doesn’t instill confidence that the team will need to run the table. They really do need to win this game to get that monkey off their back and build the confidence needed.
Great teams are battle tested. If they win at Clemson they will know they can win at Oxford and at Tuscaloosa. Plain and simple!
