Me and my daughter have watched every game and want the team to win, but gosh darn, we can’t get out of our own way sometimes. I don’t know who specifically is to blame for not notifying the home umpire, but it possibly lost us the game.
I know Beth gets a lot of hate on here and some of the criticism is rightfully so. I do believe she does a good job at getting talent here and maintaining a good program. Whether or not she can put the talent in the right spot to make the right plays, I’m not sure. I’ll keep rooting for her and the team regardless. Geaux Tigers!

Pinch runner ran for Bergeron in her previous AB and with the bases loaded, no outs, they forgot to let the umpire know that Bergeron was re entering the game. Arkansas noticed the error after one pitch to Bergeron and she was ruled out by the umpire, leaving the bases loaded, 1 out, with Edwards up to bat in a 8-12 game. This is seriously bad coaching.
Torina should have been terminated several years ago, but she hangs around and around and around and around spewing out softball mediocrity.

The real question is why didn't ANY one of the Coaches fail to speak up? Beth is not my favorite coach, buy we have a number of coaches that should have reminded Beth. Heck, even Bergeron should have reminded Beth to notify the Ump.

The race between her and the Arkansas assistant to the home plate umpire was worth the price of admission. I can't find the video, but it was pretty darn funny.

Learn ball loser, lost 2 games vs Texas, got shelled vs A&M where she lost 2 more!! Got shelled Sunday vs Georgia.. she gives up 7 runs more than not clown boy..It’s time for Beth to look for another job

Maybe just have Berzon pitch 2nd through 6th innings. It looks like 1st and 7 innings are her achilles heel. JUST JOKING.

I’ll have to disagree on this. As both a player and coach, I never checked myself back into a game, nor have I depended on a player to do it for me.
This isn’t basketball.
The more concerning part of this was posed already. Why didn’t an assistant say something? Are they afraid to speak up? Was no one assigned to watch for an issue like this?
Presently my daughter is probably the youngest head coach in college softball and when I sent this to her, she replied….totally on the HC.

I partly agree. I DON'T agree that Bergeron deserves even a little blame for the reporting violation. Half the time players are in the dugout when coaches report and unless a coach makes it a team practice, players don't worry about it and shouldn't. However, totally agree with you that as a coaching staff Torina should shoulder the lion's share of the blame (comes with the title of Head Coach), but the 2 assistant coaches should have been supporting in that area and ensuring proper reporting.

The person that keeps the card is the person who goes to home plate and in the past it was Coach Howard, this year it’s Simmons. Simmons does the subs, I’m not blaming her at all it’s the HC responsibility 100%, just maybe Torina is doing too much!! Head Coach, Pitching Coach, calls the pitches, 3rd base coach, calls the offense and who knows who calls the defense.

Always deflecting for Torina, she screwed up… just say it!!! Maybe they did and we don’t know, Bergeron did catch the entire half inning before with Arkansas not saying a word!

It really was funny.
That was one of the oddest games I've watched in some time. Odd (& hilarious) reporting incident. Odd baserunning on a few occasions. Odd official reviews & odd official review rulings. Odd coaching decisions--on both sides. Arkansas coach leaving the Burnam kid in to pitch as long as she did would have gotten Torina absolutely ROASTED on this forum LoL.
