Best QB to play in Tiger Stadium

From personal observation:
Archie Manning
Better than:
* Spurrier, who picked LSU's defenses apart (won a Heisman)
* Bert Jones, who to be fair played part-time along with Paul Lyons
* Pat Sullivan (won a Heisman).
* "Miracle" Mike Miley
* CORRECTION - DELETION (Joe Theisman did not play in Tiger Stadium)
* Alan Risher
* Rohan Davey
* Jamarcus Russell (who was so physically talented he unfortunately didn't develop worth spit during his college years)
Archie had the capability to paralyze a defense with his great vision, accurate passing in the pocket or on the move, scrambling ability, and read defenses (and pick a great audbile). In 1969 and 1970, we didn't say we lost to Ole Miss, we said we lost to Archie Manning. If Archie had played on any team (college or pro) with near-neighborhood talent, Ole Miss would have racked up the titles.

Tebow should be on that list IMO.

Completely agree with Archie. I have seen a lot of games in Tiger Stadium. Archie was scary good. Saw him break my heart when he was a sophmore and led the Rebels to a game winning drive as the clock was running. Had them once in a 3rd and
18 and they got it.
18 and they got it.

Danny Wuerffle (sp?) definitely deserves to be on that list.

We can add Y.A. Tittle to the list.
The one that used to get to me was John Bond from Mississippi State. We could NEVER stop that guy!!!
Did Bart Starr or Joe Namath ever play in Tiger Stadium in their days at Bama?
We can also add any mediocre quarter back who played against LSU in the '98-'99 seasons. Coach Linebacker's defense made them all Heisman contenders.

This is a little obsure and probably not the best QB I've seen, but Ben Roethlisberger pf Miami of Ohio was outstanding...

I bet his 50-year-old arse could suit up this season for the Maroons and still beat LSU. That fricker just had LSU's number. The week after LSU beat Bama in 1982 (Bama's triple option rushing attack was #1 @ 300 ypg) by stifling their offense, Bond walked through the Tigers like they weren't there.
I really hated that guy.
Best I'VE seen in Tiger Stadium were Wuerffel and Tebow.

Archie. I saw that guy beating us with one arm in a cast until it got too heavy for him in the second half.
BTW, he was a damn good baseballer. I watched him play in the old Box and he was the biggest shortstop I ever saw.

From personal observation:
Archie in that 68 was perhaps the best qb performance I ever witnessed in Tiger Stadium.
Steve Walsh's 88 game was a great individual performance in really bad weather.
Bert Jones' 72 game against Auburn was maybe the best of his many good games I had the pleasure to witness.
Pat Sullivan had a really great game in Tiger Stadium in 69 (although LSU did win on a late 4th q blocked xp).

* Joe Theisman (who LSU punished in Tiger Stadium)
Get your facts straight...............
He didn't play in Tiger Stadium. He played in a hard fought 3-0 Irish win in SOUTH BEND!!!! Also, I would hardly call his play "punishing"!
Best QB was Title or Jones....period!!

Rex grossman. Hands down the best performance in the past 30 years

Didn't a guy named Brett Favre take USM into Tiger Stadium and beat a Mike Archer team? I hear he turned out to be pretty good.

I was going to say him and Danny W. Hands down, those two torched LSU.

I remember being impressed with Roethlisberger (sp?). As I recall, he put up pretty decent numbers against a really rugged LSU defense.
