Anybody bring up the reception at the beginning of the game when the replay booth was "not working". This would have given Alabama a first down and probably long drive to score. C'mon guys, we all know there wasn't stellar officiating in this game but to have conspiracy accusations are ridiculous.
Game is over, move on. Bama won however ugly you think it was, we still won.
Don't you think if the shoe was on the other foot that you would still be upset by the call. No! You would be laughing at the Bama fans that were whining about the officiating.
Yes the officiating was terrible. But, it went both ways, for and against LSU.
The ruling on the field was incomplete, so therefore they had to have indisputable evidence to overturn it. It wasn't there. The ball was not in control when he had two feet inbounds. The angle on the other clip when he supposedly had only one foot inbounds was not clear.
Bad call, maybe. Winning the game on that one play, doubt it!

Peterson moves the ball when he brings it to his side. If he doesn't do that, it's a catch without question, but because he does that the right foot is the questionable part of the play.

I have yet to see anything definitely suggest his right foot came down in bounds...

I'm going to assume your comment is to me.

I realize it's unofficial, but have you ever seen a replay of a disputed spotting of the ball that requires measurement that does not show the line?

There was a measurement and replay for an Alabama first down later in the game that showed the line.

Actually, line or not the replay shows that Jefferson advanced the ball beyond the spot it was marked, and one of the officials was approximately a yard up the field awaiting the marking of the ball and movement of the chains.

But, my question is more about why we never see the replay in this instance, when I have watched more college and pro football than I care to admit, and have never seen a replay that didn't include that line since the day it was developed.

no one is sayig that we would have won the game with that call. we had a back up qb and rb in there, but then again you never know.

the point is that he clearly, clearly caught the ball and got not one but two feet down, and he had control of the ball from the moment it touched his hands.

this was home cooking at best, and you know it. the spots, the block in the back on jones'td, the face mask on hitt, there is little doubt in the mind of the sports world that something stings in b'ham, that is unless you wear crimson.

Wow...too bad the CBS camera had such a bad angle

this make a case for having more TV cameras

Exactly. There is no excuse for having a bad camera angle anywhere on the field. The SEC and the TV networks have way too much money to not have any angle necessary to make the correct calls on the field.

Did Chad Jones (not Julio) touch the ball before it got to Peterson?

Personally, I think the "Julio touched it" argument is pretty weak. He didn't touch it, but even if he did...

i think he was talking about #3

edit:

just want to say, that while this photo wont do us any good, this does show how badass patrick peterson is. how the hell did he do that? he got 1? 2? 3 feet down? holy crap. that really was amazing play. unfortunately people wont be focusing on how awesome of an interception that was, instead theyll just be talking about how the refs blew the call

GREAT picture. That call pissed me off too. Did he have obvious possession at that point in the pic?

They are saying JJ touched it first while standing out of bounds which negates the INT. All I could do was shake my head.

That just cracks me up. You might as well discuss this with a turd as you would a gump. They both just need to be flushed and not paid attention to.

No.

And if Julio Jones touched it through PP's hands, it's not even clear if his feet are out of bounds.

Watching every replay outside of the first one shown that was never shown again hurts my head.

The first replay from behind down the sideline is clear and shows green between his right foot and the white when zoomed, which conclusively rules it a catch, regardless of when you want to say he had possession.

I have not heard one explanation of why this replay was never re-shown.

Because it would hurt the Bama refs ruling.

Thanks you.

I didn't think so, just wanted a confirmation so I could have my bases covered for future debates.

his feet never touch the ground. Patrick peterson is so good that he doesnt need the ground. He just levitates.

This is interesting:

Ref had a clear line of sight.

Hadn't been able to see that before.

I just ruptured a blood vessel in my eyeball.
