How about SWAT Mitchell. The other Mitchell named Darrell had scary good hops for a 5'10" dude.

Glover JAckson - He is often forgotten because the teams were not very good, but the man had Ups. I think he joined the Globetrotters for a stint after his LSU days.

Of course, having CJ throw up alley-oops to you helps.
One of my favorite LSU dunks of all time (possibly just behind Jabari's) was in the '88-'89 season against (I think) Georgetown in the Dome. The CJ-to-Vernel alley-oop connection was well established, but on one play Vernel took the ball out by the wing and flipped it up for CJ on a back door alley oop. The dunk wasn't all that impressive (CJ wasn't an aerialist), but him flipping the script to be on the finishing end of an alley oop on top of everything else he could do was just awesome.

I think they ended up doing it a few times in CJ's two seasons, but this was the first time I saw it. And everything was clicking for us that night.

I agree with this. I have loved to have seen him in a dunking contest with Frankie J. Sanders of Southern...

Al Green keeps coming to mind but I dont know if I am confused with the singer but he was the point guard

Yep...Thought I was the only one thinking Al. Prob not best but had style.

Dunks are nice but unless you bring something unique I'm not gonna remember it much. Al Green did something on a few of his dunks that I only saw Dr. J doing. He would cup the ball into his wrist all in one motion and wind mill it thru. He had huge hands.

For sheer altitude Dwayne Scales. For sheer power Shaq.

Unrelated, one of the coolest dunks I ever saw was an ally oop to Darryl Walker (Dr. Dunkenstein) from Louisville where he ran in along the baseline under the basket caught the ball and dunked it behind his head with force.

Scales has to be very high on that list. Surprised to see Shaq mentioned so much. great traffic jammer - maybe the best ever - but I doubt he would do well at all in a dunk contest.

CJ compete in the NBA dunk contest but was abysmal in that format. Still, great hops.

Vernel could take it back in the day, but he's too old now. Ronald Dupree is a possibility. He could sky too.

Tyrus, and Id put D Mitch in for a little guy.

I saw Vernel posterize the shite out of an ole miss player on a fast break. The dummy tried to step in front of V to cut him off about halfway out in the lane. Vernel just went up over the top of him and layed out superman style about eye-level wit the rim. V's body was almost completely horizontal in the air. He ended up slamming it down with one hand pretty damn hard over the ole miss player.

Baddest dunk in LSU history is still the Shaq one handed putback over the center from Mcneese

I'm a big fan of the little guy dunkers...Darrell Mitchell has ridiculous hops. I don't recall many "WOW" dunks in games, but I have seen him do some pretty sick dunks outside of competition.

I'm looking online, but I remember seeing a picture of Vernel Singleton dunking over someone, and I swear he is completely horizontal in the air. Like there was an invisible table he was sitting on. It's been years, so I might be remembering it wrong. Would anyone know which one I'm talking about?
