I’m bumping this because Greg Heiar deserves a helluva lot of credit for calling that last play

No doubt. We probably lose in OT without him today.

It was an obvious call...I called the same play from the couch.

Love how Benford essentially tells the national media the final play what we call it and how we use it against man to man and zone.

No secret playbook with this guy

20% coaching. Heiar

80% execution. Waters

100% recruiting. Will Wade

I like it. Tony didn’t let his ego get in the way of the team. Takes a team to win a game and that includes the coaches. Wade liked to rely on his assistant coaches as well.

If we're forced to hire from within after all this WW crap, Heiar has my vote to be HC...always has

They run that play every end of game set. It’s simply up to Waters to make the best read.

He has 3 options:
1. Take it himself
2. Kick to Reid for a 3 (like he did vs UF and MSU)
3. Drive all the way to the rim and hit Mays in the corner for a 3.

Maryland knew what was coming. But great players make great plays

Gotta give Benford credit, for giving Heiar his credit due.

Very easy to take credit, but solid move acknowledging Heiar.

Been around Coach Heiar him quite a bit at away games and events. He’s incredibly intense, so passionate, prepared and competitive.. He and Wade are good in tandem. Both intense during games. Will is the metrics guy, gets the game plan going.

Greg coaches the guards, so not surprising he had decided on that final play.

Tony is too mellow to be a head coach. Doesn’t have the motivating fire. CJJ was the same.

And I love Greg’s Mom! She’s as emotional as he is, and great to be next to in the stands.

I’d like Greg to stay, and make sure he brings his Mom along to every away game.

Honestly it was a high ball screen for Tremont which is likely what they would have run even without a timeout.

But I'm all behind these coaches, it's a tough spot for them and they are doing the best they can.

Great win.

Our coaches should be collaborating with each other, considering the position they are in without WW.

I’m glad to see that.
